Were the two excerpts of Firestarter in Omni edited to work as stand-alone stories like "Monster in the Closet" or "The Tale of Gray Dick" or are they just straight excerpts with little to no modifications?
If they are just excerpts, can anybody advise as to what pages (as numbered from the HC) each one covers?
They were just extracts, not stand alone stories. I sold my copies so I cannot help with the page numbers.
can someone please remind me all the new poems & texts that are upcoming within the next few months and the last couple that were recently published (if any)?

Thanks for the information Mr. Rabbit Trick. Looks like there's no reason to track down those issues.
And, anybody correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, since 'Just After Sunset', the only other short fiction and poems that have been published are:
Feb 09 - "Throttle" (written with Joe Hill) (in 'He is Legend')
Feb 09 - "Ur" (through Amazon Kindle)
Jul 09 - "Morality" (in Esquire)
Aug 09 - "Mostly Old Men" (poem) (in McSweeney #40)
Nov 09 - "The Bone Church" (poem) (in Playboy)
I don't know if you want to include "The Old Man's Ticker" that was collected in The Big Book of Necon, published in August 2009. It was originally published in Necon XX back in 2000, but there were only 333 copies of that published.
John
thanks
need to get 'Mostly Old Men'

Hello, all.... I read this thread posted by nate and found it really interesting, although I have some different information about some books...
Here is my list of world true first editions (information about lots of books are missing)... The information about The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and the later books were obtained through Scribner, Hodder and the limited edition publishers...
CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF - First edition was published by Land of Enchantment in 1983.

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
I'm of the opinion that any information is good information. All the information pages you've archived, maybe have a link to them on the main page? For example, all of this is good info, and speaking as someone who hasn't even delved into the archived threads yet, it would be terrible to not have the info anymore.
I love this thread! Thanks to Nate for starting it and especially to brasileiro for all the specific dates for each book. One of my rules is to try and get the world true first edition of every book and first magazine/book appearance of each short story.
Earlier today, I was trying to determine if Pet Sematary came out earlier than the listed Nov. 14 date. I'm fairly certain it was released in October because I first read it all in one sitting on Halloween night. When I was writing my introduction here I looked up the date to confirm the release date and when it said Nov. I changed it thinking I had it wrong after all these years. You don't forget reading Pet Sematary on Halloween!
I was also looking up exactly what month the Philtrum Press edition of The Eyes Of The Dragon came out in 1984. There's no info about it anywhere but I seem to recall the lottery being in January of that year. I just found this which would indicate the book actually came out in 1985.
This make sense to me as my memory was the lottery was in January and King gave The Plant away in Christmas' of '82, '83 and '85 so it was a gift in '84 and the lottery in January of '85. We probably received our copies in February of '85. The Trade ads for the lottery in Locus, etc...were around the end of 1984.The Eyes of the Dragon (Philtrum no ISBN, Feb 85 [Jan 85], $120.00, 314pp, hc) Juvenile fantasy novel, in a signed, boxed, numbered edition of 1250 copies, with illustrations by Kenneth R. Linkhauser. A special giant-size (8.5" x 13," 4.5 lb) first edition on fine paper with linen slipcase and binding.
The German Der Buick HC - From A Buick 8 Publisher Ullstein was the world first, selled on 19 March 2002, think it΄s arround 6 months before the US.
