So, "Tenet" comes out on Tuesday and I am extremely excited to see it. Due to health concerns I wasn't able to travel to the theaters. Any of you film fans have any tips, thoughts or suggestions on what to look for and what to expect in viewing this film? I've heard it's a complicated film with a lot of twists and such so anything to look for or whatever while not spoiling it would be appreciated.
I generally love Christop-her Nolan films!!!!

I never had a problem with Interstellar either. Regarding Bane; keep in mind that WB persuaded Nolan to have Hardy reread his lines after a rough cut of the film was shown to a focus group and they were not able to understand most of what Hardy was saying. I happened to get my hands on that footage and I agree, it was almost impossible to make out what Bane was saying.
Now Tenet. Boy oh boy. If I tell you that 70% of the dialogue in that movie was clear and audible, I'm being generous. Whether it was a combination of dialogue, thick accents, or score booming over absolutely anything, I almost popped an ear drum straining myself to understand wtf they were saying. At some point during my theater viewing I gave up and said "screw it, I'll wait for the blu-ray where I can throw up the subtitles."
I love Nolan but his comments when questioned about audiences not being to understand the dialogue are asinine. He gets defensive and says that it's not imperative to understand everything, just to experience the images. Bro GTFO out of here with that bs.
I saw Tenet twice in theaters. The first being in IMAX and it was difficult to hear much of the dialogue. The second was in my normal theater and it was much easier to hear the dialogue. I'm buying the film tomorrow and I'm looking forward to watching it again but I will have the subtitles on. I'm a little disappointed that there aren't any extras on the Blu-ray.
My advice besides subtitles, just sit back and let one of the best filmmakers alive today tell you a story.

I know this feels like a year where there were no movies, but that's not true.

As I've said in the past, a 2020 movie for me means a movie that came out for the first time in 2020, and some of the movies on these lists came out in 2019. But it was still a year full of great movies.
It bothers me that some people are considering Portrait of a Lady on Fire a 2020 film.
I have to give First Cow another shot. That one was mind-numbingly slow and I just passed out. I also have been successful in spreading the word about how terrible Da 5 Bloods is. I've heard from a lot of people who agree. It's still crazy to see it on so many end of the year lists, even in a weird year for film, Da 5 Bloods shouldn't anywhere near a list of best films.

I've accepted I'll be totally out of the loop for the Oscar's this year...

Well, that didn't go so well. Or did it? A funny thing happened on my way to creating my Favorite Films of 2020 list. I noticed it was filled with some really great films! The silver lining of the pandemic when it comes to cinema is that many movies that would have typically gotten lost among the big-budget mainstream films got their time to shine and if you looked hard enough, you'd find some really good stuff. Many of which you will find on my list.

Has anyone not been able to see Tenet yet, either due to availability or not having the funds? I have an extra Blu-Ray of Tenet (unopened, with just a crack to the top of the case) that I'd like to go to someone who hasn't seen the movie yet but would like to. No cost, just a good deed.

I haven't seen it yet although I can probably find it somewhere to rent, I've just been lazy, so if someone else really wants it feel free to pass it on.

Is anybody interested in Sundance this year? The tickets went on sale today. The screenings are virtual. I purchased a bunch of tickets.
