“The battle between good and evil is endlessly fascinating because we are participants every day.” - Stephen King
Extremely jelaous of those.
Here are my recent scores. First are 3 Gunslingers. It's a first edition and an ex-library but in remarkably good condition. No stamps on it that I can find. I'll replace the DJ eventually but for now, it'll do. The price was right too:
5 new (to me) anthologies. I also have a few new paperback anthologies with King's stories but I don't feel like posting those.
Only the omnibus edition is new. First printing. Cost = $3.
4 new Tim Lebbon books. Slipcased one is limited to 100.
The Hollow Man by Dan Simmons is the newest one in this picture. Phases of Gravity is a UK edition. Makes the new US S/L look really cheap.
I have a mancrush on Ellis:
All very nice. I enjoyed The Hollow Man by Simmons.
Nice aquisitions there WeDealInLead

Some nice stuff WDIL! Although I have to say, the items that stood out to me the most were the Doubleday Reissues. I find one every now and then on eBay, I'd love to find a set of them.
Just arrived half an hour a go.
The new King trademark scrawl page
A big, big thank you to our very own Merlin/Bill for getting me this. I like to think of it as "our copy" that I just get to keep in my house.
Cheers Merlin!!
Has anyone actually 'opened' the DJ? This is the first pic that clearly shows the overlapping parts that are held together by the Extra! sticker.
How come you don't like his sci-fi books? Just not a sci-fi fan in general?
I'm finishing Hyperion and the way it's plotted reminds me of It. Each character has a back story and reasons why're they're 'there.' I don't want to ruin it for anyone but characters, their stories and the 'monster' in the book definitely have a heavy It feel to them.
I could never get into the Sci-Fi stuff from Simmons.
Just arrived:

Congratulations WeDealInLead ! I like that Talisman
Nice WDIL, that is the copy of the Talisman I would really like to have (since I am not in the position to pay for the really nice SL of it).
Christine
Totally agree the unsigned editio of Talisman looks great.

Those Talisman books are so much smaller than I expected them to be.

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
That is very nice. Mark does nice work and is just getting better and better. He is relatively new to this field and a very good guy. A lot of people dissed his work for THE GREEN MILE but I liked it. He has sent me links to some of his recent illustrations for other authors and they are really impressive.
