Those are cool drawings, guys.
I've never heard of Donato, but I like the artwork.

Oh good Lord, I love those remarques in NotW. I really, really, wish they had stuck with Donato for the covers for the series. The generic crap/photo/shadows that are on the books now are terrible. And yeah, that series is currently my favorite fantasy being published right now. Amazing stuff.
I lucked my way into a green man variant first edition of NotW for just a tad above retail. I'm going to have to look into getting it remaqued as well. Just wish now I had gotten the Kvothe variant at the same time.
Love 'em. Congrats!
[QUOTE=thegreattim;848870] Yeah they are pretty special to me and I fully agree, I wish he would have continued to do the cover art. I have a Nate Taylor remarque for my WMF copy since he at least did the maps so there is some association. I'm going to see Pat in a couple of weeks and one of the items on my list to talk to him about is bringing back Donato to do the cover for DoS. There is a story behind the Kvothe cover and they probably went with the photo images due to ease.
I'm not sure if Donato is doing any more remarques but I have a direct line to Nate Taylor if you ever want anything remarqued by him. You can see a few examples of his WMF remarques over at analectabooks.com
Those are wonderful. So how do you go about getting a Donato remarque (let's say in my 1st signed NOTW w/Kvothe cover)?
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
Well here is my lastest remarque. My first remarque done in a Stephen King book. I love it!
Beautiful. Congratulations!
Meh, It doesn't have the stark contrast, deep introspection, naked artistry or, striking imagery and detail as mine.

A very good friend from the German SK Forum was so kind to ask JOHANN PETERKA for a small drawing at the Marburg Con. Think every one knows Mr. Peterka from his amazing drawings for the Die Augen Des Drachen/Eyes of the Dragon Portfolio from Edition Phantasia.
What i get from Mr. Peterka is AMAZING !!!

Matt, I gave him a couple of scenarios and we agreed on this one. I told him that I was interested in the China Pit and the true nature of the Tak. There are only a few scenes available with the Tak in it's original form so this is what he did. It is similar to Merlin's Tak Attack remarque but still different and it's own unique remarque. I love it!
