I had several bother me moments - like at the coin show when the guy asked her if she was interested in "commemorative state quarters". Unless I missed something those came out starting in 1999.

Just read GBB and for the most part I enjoyed it. Fun story and a quick read. Although, in full candor I much preferred the first half. The second half seemed off pace, or rushed. The build up was really intriguing and seemed like King's writing voice and then shifted at some point. I'm not sure how both authors collaborated, but it felt like a noticeable difference. I suppose that is the risk of writing a book with multiple authors. With all that said, I enjoyed the story and concept and was happy to have read it. It did make me want to find some silver dollars.

I agree with a lot of this. I liked the concept and the deceptively simplistic approach to telling the story. I'm actually intrigued enough to read another story about Gwendy. I can't decide if it felt too short or too long though. I feel it could have gone by way of short story very easily or it could have been fleshed out to novel length. The artwork and design CD did for it also helped a great deal.

Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
Oh wow, what a dilemma. No King input but a sequel to a King book. A first! Weird...
I like the cover:
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
It's a novel, too, not a novella like GBB is.

Just saw Richard's video discussing the sequel: Gwendy's Magic Feather. Did't see a thread for that book so I'd dropping it here. For anyone concerned, King's involvement is much more than a simple approval. Seems King did a pretty thorough edit to the book. Along with Bev.
