The Overlook connection is releasing a Dark Tower porfolio with illustrations by Glenn Chadbourne. They've just sent the out the e-mail.
Wanted list:

I agree. Somehow I feel it like giving an author a book to sign...writen by another author. The following fake pic shows more or less what I think
What happened with Glenn's works is something I don't like of "King's world". If you consider the King books he officially illustrated, I think Glenn did a good job: The Colorado Kid (I LOVED his illustrations on this book), 1922 story for Full Dark, No Stars, Secretary of Dreams 1 & 2 and The Dark Man (I really can't remember if he participated in any other official book). But you could see his works almost everywhere and a lot of fans grew tired of that. The "limited covers" and alikes were, in my opinion, too much.
Wanted list:
Ubris
Your right Ari. I understand he needs to eat... but I think he hurt his own brand by outputting FAR to much!

Great conversation! I'm going to be very unpopular with this next comment, but......here it goes:
I feel the same about so many reprints, rerelease, rererelease, and rerererereleasees of books and artwork.
The Cycle of the Werewolf project has great purpose behind it, however, was it really necessary?

Nope it isn't. They are doing this to help Bernie is what I am hearing. I have heard that since he cannot draw anymore and with his health in question... bills are mounting and he is need of some money. I love the King world as we all do BUT quickly learned to collect what I like the most... NOT be any sort of completest as that is darn near impossible!

A generalization I admit, but we should support, Bernie and not, Chadbourne despite the fact that they both need to eat? Don't get me wrong, I like both artists' work and truth be told, for the most part, ALL the King artists from the past seem to be hurting in one way or another. All the more reason they ALL need our support in one way, shape or form. JMHO

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
Yes, I agree with supporting the artists but I don't think is good for the market and fans to have an overpopulation of works by ANY artist. Too many works by the same artist kills the "desire" to see a new artwork by that illustrator. And sometimes is not the illustrator's fault: with Glenn, I think that Dave from TheOverlook doesn't help one bit. If I'm not wrong, now he's selling a coloring book? And Hearts in Suspension illustrated by Glenn?
I LOVE Michael Whelan's works and I'd probably never grow tired of looking at his illustrations but when I saw the last Crimson King works he made I wasn't as excited as I did/do with the illustrations he made for The Dark Tower VII. If he starts to illustrate the crimson King every month it won't be the same as if he releases one illustration every six months or a year.

Actually is one Crimson King and the other one the Man in Black:
Both are available for purchase (I bought a set already):

These are prelims. The first one Stephen King bought himself. There was two done. This was one and the one that I have where he is holding a sneech... he never finished that one but did when my wife and him talked about what I wanted. He dug it out and finished it. It was a gift (it is in my collection thread). King seen this and wanted it. The second is also a prelim of the Dark man. This sold on line for about $1900 a few year ago. Or maybe it was $2500.. cannot remember. I know he sells the prints, and why not? It is an income stream and the value is in originals as we know. He produced about 15 for Knowing Darkness but does not do commissions (like many other artists) and really the work you see for sale are published OR prelims to published work. I just wanted to clarify as your post made it sound like Michael is still painting DT stuff... and he is 100% not. Nor has he in a long time. The problems with artists that over produce is obvious.. but Whelan is not in that category. Nor will he ever sit there.

Oh, I didn't know these were prelims.
Don't get me wrong: I'd love to see more DT stuff by Michael. Just not every month. Nevertheless, I agree that he's not in the category of over-producing.
Wanted list:
Ubris
Yeah he is not one to produce something every month. Trust me.. I am glad he doesn't. haha I have too much money invested in his work now. lol When they do a release of artwork.. it is planned. Every 6 months or so, left over work from the last books he illustrated. I think there is one more batch of some small b/w stuff to come. I bought the last color prelim that they thought they had ('19'). If there is another DT book, then more shall come. He has been contracted to do another thing for King but I am not at liberty to discuss it. Will only be a little bit though..
