reality continues to ruin my life
Nice Pics......Thanks....
Although unrelated I was able to take a quick walk thru the Antique Book Fair before the signing. Check out this handwritten manuscript of The Revelations of Rebecca Paulson with typed note from King. Very cool item for a mere $12,000...
(sorry for the typical TN bad photography)

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
Super jealous! Congrats!
This is a great pic of a happy King (from Lilja's)
Sounds like another great event and get-together. Someday soon,I'll make the trip!
Who is this letter to?
And for the information, it's only a 10 pages manuscript, not the whole manuscript of the story.

Anyone who was there has my permission to post the pictures that include me. Does anyone who was there want to opt out of having their picture posted?
Here is a pic of the Chihuly sculpture in front of The Chihuly Collection building in St. Petersburg.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
The bookseller said he bought it from an auction.
Back home now and after 13 hours of sleep I feel almost human again.
This particular signing was not one of my more successful ones as far as getting extra stuffed signed but I did learn some valuable lessons that will help with future signings.
King seemed to be in good spirits and was especially accommodating to kids (he doodled in their books, asked their names to personalize them, etc). Have to find some little kids to drag with me to the next signing. Despite all the warnings from the book store that King will not personalize, will not sign anything but Dr Sleep, tickets had to have names, the one book per person blah blah he not only was personalizing (though as he was doing it said he wasnt supposed to) he was signing anything put in front of him. Additionally, since the tickets were not taken away nor were they checked for names it was pretty easy to not only go back through the line but also cut back into the line based on ticket number. The handlers were definitely NOT handling at this signing.
However, I was so busy trying to find people to use the extra tickets and get Dr Sleeps signed (completely stuck on the whole one book per and only Dr Sleep signed thing) I completely missed out on all of that and although I did get all the Dr Sleeps signed I did not get anything else signed.
And in all the confusion one of the people left the signing with one of our signed Dr Sleeps as well as the ticket (sigh).
But as slimy as that guy was, there were several others that were very grateful for the opportunity to meet King and get a picture with him and had no interest in keeping the signed book.
Adding to the confusion was that King started signing half hour earlier than the schedule. I had just arrived at the Don Maitz pre gathering down the street when one of the members called and said that not only had King started signing but that our ticket numbers had already been called. I had only a few minutes to meet Don, chug down a glass of wine, take a few pics and rush out.
Although Im frustrated that I didnt take advantage of the situation and get extra things signed it was still very fun to hang out with the members, meet King again (he liked the black leather rose I gave him) and learned a few lessons that will help with the next signing.
Big thanks again to Explorer for organizing the pre and post gatherings and for giving me a place to hang out while I waited for my hotel room.
Also a big thanks to Rosannebar for the minute by minute updates but also for looking out for me. Very much appreciate that.
Heres a few more pics of the pre gathering but unfortunately my other pics didnt come out well enough to post (sorry).

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Im not great at remembering names and not sure if members want their names posted so...
From left to right around the table:
Explorers guests Joe and Michelle(?), Explorer, Explorer's Nephew, Barlow, Barlows friend, Mrs. Rosannebar, Rosannebar on the phone with Tippy (lol), Mrs. Br!an, Br!an, Sentinal and Mrs. Explorer

What a fine looking bunch of King fans! It's a great pic
Good job again TN and RF. We are still traveling so not at my desktop, however keep thinking of things I wanted to share about the event.
There were a couple of things that added a lot to the event for Deanna and I. Of course it was so wonderful to connect with those we do not see often enough. There is nothing like getting together with old friends who appreciate similar interests.... other than meeting new friends. Barlow, Brian and company, it was great to meet and have you join us. Two others who were at the pre-gathering. Joel and Sally Maroney (not tdt members) were so thrilled to be part of this, they have posted pics all over their Facebook pages. My nephew Andy has gone to King events in the past to help me get extra copies and I invited him to this event to get his own signed copy. The two people who really provided us with some laughs and joy was a couple who have never been to a King event much less a signing. My guest Michelle and Joe are a couple I know through Facebook and an ex who have commented when they have heard of my prior exploits meeting the "King". When I let them know of this event, they were so excited and quickly made plans to join us. Their reactions were priceless. Michelle's comments, "This is the best day of my life" followed by , "Sorry Joe , Our wedding was special too!" kept us smiling. When Stephen commented on the tattoo on her arm she about floated as she skipped out the back door with a grin from ear to ear. When she was given an opportunity to use another ticket go through the line and get another book signed she jumped at the chance and when she got to Mr King told him, "I feel this is the best day ever". King then reached out his hand and said, "Hold onto this". and again she was overwhelmed and could not get over what she was experiencing. They stayed with the group through the Classico post gathering on Main St. and then joined us for dinner at Owens Fish Camp. They fell in love with our group and did not want to leave even though they had a 3 hr drive back to the other coast.
