Did I read here somewhere that this is rare because there is a SK story in it? Or was that just the proof, which I don't have, although I'm 99% sure I saw one in John's proof thread.

I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the cell phone god they made...
Here's the picture of the proof:

And did it only appeared in the proof? Not the final version of the book?
Wanted list:

No, it's in the book, and the proof too I assume. It originally appeared in the February 1978 issue of F&SF:
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the cell phone god they made...

Slightly offtopic: I once purchased a couple of books from an eBay seller and when he noticed I was from The Netherlands, he asked me to send him a copy of the Dutch translation of SONGS OF THE DYING EARTH. It turned out that he had a story in there as well - his name is Byron Tetrick, if I recall correctly.
Yes, I recall Byron Tetrick's story, about a group of young men in a magic class. It's truly a small world!
Well, more books, what else!
