"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
Big congratulations, Chase. A GREAT prize.
I will admit to you all that I'm struggling immensely with what to ask for by way of the inscription. Unlike the previous winners, I don't have the luxury of asking for an iconic King phrase (They all float down here/You're the caretaker now...etc).
This may sound like lunacy, but has anyone ever left the inscription in King's hands?
Yes and that would be my recommendation as well…..
Unless you wanted it specific to a person or more personal in nature, I would defer to Mr. King.
It's a toughie. I gave it a lot of thought until I settled on the inscription.
If you don't have anything specific maybe think about whether you want it to you (or someone else). Do you want it dated or not. Do you want him to draw something. Dark humour or more serious. That sort of stuff. It may jog other thoughts and ideas into play. Then ask for the things you are sure on but leave it up to Mr. King on the other details if you don't have anything specific.
Hope this helps at least a little.

I would read Finders Keepers and make it relevant to that book perhaps, for example the "It’s guys like you who give reading a bad name.” quote from the first chapter was pretty funny to me. Maybe "It's guys like you who give reading a GOOD name." or something else that strikes you from FK. I'm still working my way through it so can't offer much more, but I'd rather do FK specific than something that belongs in another edition. Without giving major spoilers, can anyone think of good FK-based inscriptions?
I think that if SK does the inscription you're going to get a 'boilerplate' version that he's used a billion times.

SCOR, If you are going to read FK before requesting an inscription, I suggest you hurry. The earlier that King dates it, the better.
The other option is to tell King your name, and Marsha will know you are the Grand prize winner, then let King do it. No matter what, you'll be thrilled.
BTW, you can request a doodle/drawing, but it is all up to SK.
Looking forward to seeing your inscription, Chase.
Congratulations Chase! Look forward to seeing the inscription.
If I ever win the HF Grand Prize I'm not going to ask for a specific inscription but I'm going to ask him to sign it with a bold, nice 1980s sig instead of his current cramped/shaky one
Congrats, Chase!
Congratulations, Chase!
I mailed the book off today. I'm told that Mr. King will sign/inscribe it in a "couple of weeks".
Hopefully that will be okay with the winner...
Half the fun is receiving a package from King's office/The Haven Foundation, knowing what's inside, but not knowing what's inside.
Dumb sentence but I hope it makes some sense.
