I just finished "True Grit" by Charles Portis. It is outstanding in every way, and there is something in it for everyone. It's told from a young girl's point of view and is full of humor and action. Not only a great western, but an excellent novel. Fans of Roland Deschain will love Rooster Cogburn.
"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
it confused alot of people. I think after this I'll go back to JB, if I'm allowed.

Dahl will do that. (Plus drugs.)

A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin
First time reading this (I know, I'm embarrassed). It's fantastic.
I had my infatuations, but we both know in our hearts who is the sole love of my short, bright life.
Awesome. I didn't know you had finished them. It really is horribly sad. i felt worse for Harry in Changes than I did for Richard through most of The Sword of Truth and that is really saying something.
Excellent choice. Have fun with the initial shock of trying to keep up with all the people. There are so many characters in the books and so few of them are trivial.
I've been re-reading The Dark Tower. I am on The Drawing of the Three.
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.

I'm reading a good whodunnit.
People love frozen yogurt. I don't know what to tell you.
Whutisit?
