So you've never been to the UK, I take it? Because trust me, you wouldn't get that reaction. You'd probably get a couple of disagreements here and there, plenty of sarcastic comments of, "Well, DUH!", but never a facepalm. Like I said before, Doctor Who is fucking immortal. LOST is over. 'Nuff said!

It's a shame so many kids grow up without reading Roald Dahl.
Thanks, Letti, for posting that recommendation.

No, but I'd love to go to the UK! If I ever go and come visit, we'll go for fish and chips, minus the fish.

Finally! Something we can completely agree on! I can't stand fish, but battered sausage is always good with chips. With lashings of salt and vineger. Only way to eat chips!

And you should read Roald Dahl. I didn't read that many Roald Dahl books, only stuff like James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you know, the most remembered ones, but I'm glad to know there's a "Best Of" compilation out there. Cheers for the recommendation, Letti!

Not funny, feev. Let me introduce the difference between funny and not funy with a clip that's not from Lost:

Honestly though, you wouldn't get the reaction that Dr Who is better than Lost in the UK. Maybe because Dr Who is watched more, but you definitely wouldn't get the same reaction. Just saying.

That funny/not funny quickly spread all over the UK it was so brilliant, but I just love how obvious he is the moment he put on the gas mask! It's like he knows he's being cliche, but he just can't be bothered to care about it!

Btw, has anyone on here read any Michael Moorcock? Because apparently he's written a ton of fantasy novels, that's why him writing a Doctor Who book is a bit of a big thing and why they've released an extra special hardback, but i'm wondering if any fantasy lovers on here have actually ever heard of him?

I'm currently on my 2nd re-read of the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. I'm about halfway through the 4th and most current book, A Feast For Crows right now.

Not sure what I'm going to read next. I've got the first book of the Outlander series which many people have recommended to me. I may check that out.
I am Daenerys Stormborn and I will take what is mine. With fire and blood.

I'm also just starting AFFC, this is like my 9th reread though.

That's awesome, Bruno. They are such good books though and have so much detail that you catch so much more on re-reads, that they can be read over and over again like that!

And Bethany, I just the fact that Annabeth is reading them. What a cool kid.

Moorcock's books about Elric of Melniboné are all kinds of awesome. I haven't read them in many years, though. There are also some comics based on the Elric books. If I were comparing them to other fantasy, it would probably be Howard's Conan stuff, but with more magic.

I am not absolutely sure that the short stories I have read by him recently would be that good for children. I guess you meant his other works. It's my first book from him.

    Roland would have understood.
