I moved this to the "Intriguing" thread.
Here's an interesting auction for the Firestarter S/L. I'm bidding on it (and the high bidder at the moment though it hasn't reached the reserve yet), and I'm sure this probably belongs to someone on here. Just thought I'd post it here and help someone out. My bid is about as high as I can go, so no worries about me getting upset for losing it.

Opinions on this signed STAND (UNCUT)? Looks legit to me... but an expert I'm not.
I like it.
I think it's okay, but the "Faust" in the dedication throws me a little off.
John
There's no reserve, apparently.
I think it is a legit King signature.
sig looks good to me, I wonder how high she will go?
How the heck is Fasust?
I won this item yesterday, I believe it's legit,,,what do you all think?
My Grand mothers name is Ella. I felt I'd like to have it at a decient price.

This seems like a pretty nice copy of 'SALEM'S LOT and priced decently. The dust jacket spine is sun faded though. All the red in the title lettering looks gray. I didn't see where he mentioned that defect in the description.

Bob, Are you sure? The cover looks just fine to me!
John
Yes, I am sure. That's why I posted in case someone was planning on bidding and didn't recognize the defect. The title lettering on the spine should have a dark red outline just like on the front panel. If you compare the lettering on the spine to the title lettering on the front panel of the dj you can see that they are clearly different (i.e. red on the front panel, gray on the spine). Look at the second picture. King's name, too, should be in red.
It still looks like a very nice book and the dj is much better than average with respect to the amount of wear and the appearance of the black background. I just wanted to alert potential bidders on this site that it does have a problem of fading on the spine. I didn't notice it the first time I looked at it.
Here are a couple of pics of how the spine should look.
I see now. Thanks!
John
