I loved it. I wouldn't say it's my new favorite show, but it was very well made. I love that time period. The show has unbelievable set and costume design.
Of course, Hardy is the real standout here. The man just oozes intensity. He devours the scenery here.

It's clear that this show is just a vehicle for Tom Hardy, and I'm absolutely fine with that.
I love the mixture of gritty, Victoria Era costume design and just under the surface black magic. It's wonderful.

I haven't read any reviews at all. Simply love the dark gritty atmosphere and several of the characters. I'm watching the UK version though, with much swearing. So the FX version....are they saying "fuck" on TV?

Pryce is also amazing as the sleazy head of the Eastern India Trading Co.,
When I was watching Deadwood the second time, for my friends it was their first, we would talk about our work week. Everybody was a sailor. "Fuck this guy, that cunt cut me off, your a cocksucker, etc" It was quite funny. When you truly get sucked in a show you mimic things even as an adult. I truly understand what you are saying about this show. I do enjoy Hardy's dialogue and laugh when I am at work thinking about some of the things he does to people and what he says.

Day 8 of me talking like Tom Hardy from Taboo. I'm not going to lie, people aren't loving it.

Did y'all catch the finale last weekend?
Finally got around to watching it last night. I enjoyed it, even if James' revenge plans suffered a little from the "everything fell perfectly into place at just the right time" syndrome.
Looking back on the season as a whole, I can't shake the feeling that the creators were intending for Delaney to reach America much sooner, but decided to prolong it to squeeze as much juice out of the Regent/EITC arc as possible.

I'm really happy they are doing a season 2. Originally, I thought the whole show was a one-shot.

That was my understanding too. Guess it performed a lot better commercially than they thought so they decided to extend it.
I really enjoyed this season of TABOO!
