Catching this Saturday morning
Saw the film last night. Loved it.
Spoiler:
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
We saw ROGUE ONE last night and really enjoyed it. It's fast-paced, lots of battles and fights, but there's still time for some terrific character development and arcs. K2 (Alan Tudyk from Firefly) steals every scene he's in, but Felicity Jones is great. As an actress, she has demonstrated a tremendous amount of range, and this film adds nicely to her repertoire.
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
Just came out of seeing Rogue One. Wow. I was blown away. I was expecting it to be good but this exceed all expectations. How well it ties into Episode 4 is astonishing. That last scene, I was crying at the end as the credits began.
I'm watching it in just over 3 and a half hours time.... IMAX 3D, Premier deluxe seats, dead centre.
This is the prequel we have been looking for.
Just from excitement and happiness at how it ended.
Spoliers!
No, I was not happy with that specifically, but how well it tied into a 40-year old movie. That was my "Chewie, we're home" moment.
I really enjoyed this one.

I actually thought all the various tie-ins into A New Hope (now I can actually call it that without reservations), small and large, were exceedingly well done.
