I don't know that ANY Stephen King book describes my life, and I've read less than half of his works, but the one that first comes to mind is The Shining.

I know this is going to sound generic and part of it sort of whiney but-- The Dark Tower series, all of it.
In my life I feel very lost, I feel like there should be some greater purpose rather than to get a job and make money and have good times with my friends and family.
Sometimes I find myself wondering if I'm going to hear Roland speak up in my head and pull me through a door.
I am definitely Duma Key, with some (rather numerous, in fact) flashbacks from It.

Today it's "Misery", as i'm laid up in bed with a back problem for a while.
... now if my lady wife comes in the door with a sledgehammer instead of tea and toast i'm gonna make quite a mess in the aforementioned bed!
I don't think my life translates well into a King book but if I had to pick one it would be the Shining. The thing that sticks with me here is that my relationship with my first son is similar to Jack and Danny's in that Liam has always been "mine". When I read the part in The Shining that talks about that it made me think of Liam. He prefers me to his mother and wants to be around me all the time. The little guy looks forward to me coming home all day and every Friday he has to make sure that I'll be staying home the next day. Now, I doubt he'll feel the same way when he's 12 but for right now, he's "mine".
Now my second son...he's definitely my wife's. If I had to liken their relationship to some kind of fiction it would be Norman Bates and his mother.

The reason my life feels like the long walk lately is that even though I'm young, I've realized that lifeis very long and sometimes quite unpleasant but at the same time as being long, everything, every step you've worked for get harder to hold onto and easier to lose the longer you go...explain reasons peoples? i am curious?
