JK Rowling is at a tiny book festival in Scotland tonight. The organiser was on the news and he stated she would be paid the same as all the other authors attending. £150. But, he also stated that if she presented her bus ticket, she would be paid for that also. Nice.

Been looking at possible honeymoon locations, anyone been to mexico, the mayan riviera?
Rowling recently did a Skype "visit" with my Elementary School for free. I was pretty impressed!
Don't go there. Go to the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica (or tour both sides of the country).
Our honeymoon was postponed (possibly indefinitely) so we could spend the money on our documentary, but we originally planned to visit Alaska and I keep hoping we can make the trip soon. I'd done plenty of research beforehand and discovered that honeymoons to cold locations are statistically more romantic and generally exceed expectations (based on travel agency survey results, customer reviews, and a sociological study). Just some interesting information. No matter what the location, I hope you enjoy it!!
I was in Cancun when i was little and it was fun but it has become very touristy and not very safe. Cabo San Lucas is very nice. We go there about once a year although with airfare being what it is that may stop.
Hooray! One bookshelf down with only (basically and only in regards to HC's) my SK stuff to go. I'm guessing my SK books will take 15-20 boxes because the books are damn big and they will be loaded with peanuts.

I have read the article it it was a great piece. Scalpers are a bit like surfers-territorial, bound by certain "rules" etc. They are a unique group of people.

I'm not sure if I posted this here but my wife received her orders for Germany earlier this week. The orders were expilcit, and I kid not, that she is not authorized to travel before 12/3/12 and she is to report for orientation on 12/4/12. So they have provided her a one day window to travel and she must report for her new job in another country the next day.
Okay, I can understand the report for work at X time on X day, but the part about not travelling until the day before is a bit crazy.
It is crazy but this whole thing has went this way. We are resigned to the fact that we will take a few punches before we get settled in. We are hoping that over the long run everything will sort itself out. If not we do have some back-ups available.
On a side note I have a potential job oppurtunity in Germany for me already. It actually came out of contacts I have here in Florida. It really is a small world.

Funny, I just watched the GWTDT recently and while I enjoyed it and have the book (my Wife's) I wasn't motivated to read it. Maybe I should revisit the issue?My daughter and family have moved in with us and they brign netflix with them!
