Going on a road trip to Washington, DC.
Anyone on the trail between London, Ontario and DC? Any tips for where to stop?
How long are you going for? There's some neat tourist-y things and momuments to check out if you have a good amount of time. The Capitol Building, Washington Monument, etc. Also, the Newseum is pretty cool too.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
VCU????? First Four to Final Four?????????

Well the Smithsonian could take up all your time! I particularly like the Museum of Natural History, but I think theAir & Space Museum is more popular. There is an offshoot to the Air & Space located on the grounds at Dulles Airport which is about 30 miles or so west of the district in Virginia! I also like the US History Museum. If you like art the Art Museum is pretty cool. A couple other places that you should try and take in are the Bureau of Engraving & Printing- just watch them print the money! The Holocaust Museum is very intense too! I have never been to the Spy Museum but hear its pretty cool too! I have never been the the Newseum but hear its pretty cool! You used to be able to get a tour of the FBI Headquarters, but not sure they still do it. Also a neat stop is Fords Theater to see where Abe Lincoln was assasinated.
The monuments on the mall are pretty cool - if you plan on going up in the Washington Monument plan ahead as there is always a line. For all the other monuments just walk up to them - the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Viet Nam Memorial are my faves - there is a statue of three Marines with the blank combat state that is pretty intense. There is a lot of history at Arlington Cemetery with JFK's Tomb and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as popular stops and the Marine Corps Iwo Jimo Memorial right next door to the cemetery. I have always skipped the White House Tour due to the lines and people telling me it was probably not wirth the wait - just my opinion of course! There are parts of the US Capital Bldg that you can tour as well - pretty cool stuff!
There are other places to go as well but I'd skip the National Aquarium and the National Zoo - they are not particularly good, in fact rather disappointing! The Marine Corps Museum is about 40 miles south on Rt 1 and simply awesome! It's more in my neck of the woods, both geographically and in the fact that I am a Former Marine!
The best part about touring in DC is that there are tons of things to do that are FREE!

CLUB STEPHEN KING (french website about STEPHEN KING, since 1992) : on : Facebook | Twitter | Instagram
------------------------------------------------
I recently came across the following King quote:
The novelist is, after all, God’s liar, and if he does his job well, keeps his head and his courage, he can sometimes find the truth that lives at the center of the lie.
I'm not really sure about the first part....The novelist is, after all, God’s liar, .
Any suggestions ???
sk
I'm soooo tired after getting back from the gym, need to get fit though because i'm joining a local football(soccer) team next season. I'm really not fit either, think the last time i played for a team was 10 years ago or more.
Were any of you folks aware of the "Reputation" system? I don't know very much about it, but I NEVER noticed it until now!!!!!

This "Reputation"-thing is kinda cool!!!!!!!! We should all get into it!!!!!! "Keeping up with the times", as "El Jefe" puts it. There's also a "Facebook" thumbs up at the top of the thread in addition to the "Reputation" at the bottom left of each post!!!! Kinda neat!!!!
