When I get some time Gris, I'll post a picture of the signature I have by Berni.
The only way I can tell he signed it is because I got it signed in person at a convention.
Margaret Emmie Mackey Catoe, you are, have been, and always will be my soulmate, and I love you.

I agree with Bob that it appears to be authentic.
Sometimes it helps to see several known signatures next to one you want to clarify:
He's about the most inconsitent signature I've ever seen

Facebook Message from Liz Wrightson...
Okay, y'all first: Bernie is in the hospital, having suffered a series of SMALL strokes. Tests are happening; surgery may be in the cards. His cognition and spirits are good, but convention appearances look unlikely for the next few weeks. Overall he is okay, as we got him to the hospital FAST. Send good thoughts and all that... -Liz

Sad to hear this and I also wish him a speedy recovery!
Just met him in May at the Dallas Comic Con and he graciously signed my 1st/1st copies of COTW and WOTC. We chatted for quite a while. An awesome and humble man!
Steve Niles is going to set up a Get Well page on FB where people will be able to offer good wishes. I'll post a link when it's available.

Just picked up the new issue of Comic Book Creator which has an extensive interview with Berni Wrightson. Berni goes into details on his collaborations with Stephen King on books and films.
I know that he work on the Mist, but didn't know that he also worked on Riding the Bullet and Green Mile.
Edit: Just realized that this is an old interview from 2004, but still very interesting.
