HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
Depends on how you define "make good"
I got my money back, (S)he really had no choice being ebay and all.
Never once apologized, or tried to defend when I called them out, it was obvious.
If you watch his/her ebay sales you'll notice on occasion (S)he has multiple listings for a particular book.
I'll bet most buyers don't pay attention to see if it really matches the listing pics.

In this case, the first printing was 10,000 copies. When it sold out and the publisher and King were bombarded with queries about the book, it went back to press for a second printing of 10,000 copies.
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
Grant published three editions of The Gunslinger. The first, published in 1982, was designated as the first printing, first edition with 10,000 copies done, about 1500 of which were reported to be mis-bound. The first printing second edition was printed a year or so later in a 10,000-copy printing because the demand was so strong. The first edition third printing was done in 1998 as part of a 11,000-copy three-book slipcased set with a second printing of Drawing of the Three and a first printing of The Waste Lands. Both the third printing Gunslinger and the second printing Drawing had different dust jackets. The first printing Gunslinger had two prices on the dust jacket (one for the trade, the other for the signed limited) while the second printing had just one.

Don't ask questions! This is how it started for me. I was happy to have 1 copy of each of Stephen King's books. Didn't know about 1st editions, 1st printings. Didn't even know about S/L editions until i came upon this site 3 years ago. I didn't even know there was a store Betts Books. Tens of thousands dollars later, i now have 20 S/L books, 58 flat signed first editions, and tons for first printings of his magazines!
get out before it is too late!!!
It's a good question. It's important.
A first edition, first printing is the first printing run of a book. A first edition, second printing a second print run of the same book by the same publisher. Third printing, fortieth printing etc.. Usually the term first edition is used for the first trade edition. The actual first edition could be a limited edition or private printing. Sometimes a different publisher will print the book and that is regarded as a first edition thus.
A book such as The Stand Complete & Uncut or the Oxford English Dictionary would be considered a second edition, or third, or forth, or two hundredth, etc..

I understand thank you.

Optimistic, or delusional on their pricing:
Stephen King Book Collection (Signed, 1st ed., & Rare)
Time left:
At first I thought it was because they were pb's making the signature look large but I agree they just seem to be too big and rounded for King's usual signature. I wonder if the price is in Peso's? I have to admit though I don't believe I have seen that particular cover of the Shining Reader. I wonder if that is the new Borgo Publishing version?
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
