DOH!!! No, I don't have that one. LOL! I always forget the obscure ones.
I caught up on the forums and, within a couple of days, I have already bought another 1st/1st gunslinger, the Insomnia signed print, a Limited to 150 Joe Hill Chapbook - Pop Art and the corresponding number Subterranean Press #6 HB and a Regulators book turned into a secret hidden "safe". Sigh...it's good to be home.
Holy moly, Curt, congrats on your recent purchases, and welcome back.
I feel like I can resell it later when the movies come out for almost double, so I will sit on it.

Oh, sh*t. I didn't even think of that. I gotta get me a 1/1 Gunslinger before then. I guess my S/L plans are going on the back-burner.
They are REALLY expensive on Abebooks. Pretty expensive on EBay right now too....be careful as I see a few that are 2nd printings and you have to hunt the fine print to see they are 2nd printing and not 1st/1st sometimes.
Maybe the value has gone up a lot? The 2nd editions are going for $400-$800!! Seems high to me though.
Someone chime in on what a good price to pay is for a 1st/1st Gunslinger, please.
My grading scale ballpark for a 1st/1st was something like:
Fine: $1000
VG: $750
Good: $500
Or am I off? Too high? Too low?
Curt, here is a 1/1 Gunslinger I just bought a month ago or so. I would say it's in Fine to VG condition. The major flaw is the library press on the one page. Otherwise there are no library markings. I think it was a steal for $350.
My opinion, right now your prices are a little high, but not completely out of line. Depends on the market, which is low right now from what I've seen. That said, you will easily find books with those price ranges if you want to buy one at any given time.
debungsmere, I don't see a picture. Should I?
I try not to buy library ones since there seems to be a stigma when trying to re-sell them (if that is the plan that is). If you are keeping it for yourself, then a Fine one with a library stamp is no big deal at all.
Thanks for the info, guys. I'd like to say I'd be able to find one in a VG condition in my price range (when I actually have the cash in hand), but if it were a clean and relatively stamp free ex-library, I'd settle for that until I'm rich and don't have to think twice about dropping the cash for a DT:1 S/L or an asbestos Firestarter.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

How come I can't see the picture of his 1st/1st Gunslinger? Can everyone else see it?
I don't believe a picture was posted....

The word Gunslinger is linked to the auction. Links arent highlighted or anything so I can see the confusion.
The stamp does devalue it, but I was happy to get it at $350. Anyway, it should help price some out for the future.
