Perhaps members don't understand (or care), but maintaining more than 1 "skin" is a PITA. maintaining 4 is quadruple a PITA.
Years ago I should have made the change and stuck to one view. Now everyone complains.

Hey RF, rather than complain (which I'm not sure most people did, just expressed they missed their old color scheme that's all) can anyone assist?
I am assuming the themes are all CSS based and that in order to add new features or ensure things work across all themes you have to update each one separately? I'm sure between some of the members here, we could take on the task of updating the non standard themes with any changes you need to make.
PM me if this is something you feel could be done. Running a site is a heavy burden - share the load whenever possible!

The other 2 options aren’t much better.

Bill didn't break anything. RF has removed some of the additional themes and left the 2 default ones. This means if you were using a non default theme it has reverted to a default.

I think we need to appreciate Jerome has a lot going on with this site currently, especially with all the HF stuff going on. Having been involved this year, I have become aware of the huge amount of work that he does behind the scenes on this fund raiser (as well as all the other site management tasks). I suspect that part of the reason for dropping the other themes was in order to fix the problem with the fundraiser gadget (although that may be coincidence).
Lets give him a break on the theme thing for a while at least.
Jerome - offer still stands, there are trained technical people who are members on this site (me included and i'm guessing Iwritecode is a giveaway) - i'm sure we can help out.

There are currently 4 "styles" or "skins" if you will that are available for members to choose from. My vision of the site is the "pumpkin" color. Some love it, some hate it. Had it been the only one from the start, people would have become used to it.
When I want to insert a "widget", or change the update at the top of the page, it requires going into 3 sections of each style (Forum Home, Forum Display, and Show Post) in addition to changing the main page.
It's a minor pain, but the biggest thing is not fucking it up.
When I do that, often I have to call for technical assistance (my son the computer guru), but he works full-time and isn't always readily available.
Oh well, enough of my whining.
I'm thrilled King is going to inscribe a book!

I think we should try another poll and see if we can't all agree to eliminate at least 1 or 2 of the skins to make RF's life a little easier. As mentioned above, he does an awful lot of work on our behalf behind the scenes.
