Stunning pictures, as always!! I get jealous sometimes that we have some of the same books but yours always look better than mine
I think your pictures do the books better justice - sometimes I take pictures of my books and when I look at the picture it really doesn't capture the essence or beauty of it.
I agree that Blood's A Rover and Silence of the Lambs are definitely cousins. Both are among the very best books that Sub Press has produced and are, as you say, "world class" lettered presentations! I'll say that I think that Silence of the Lambs slightly beats out Blood's A Rover in my opinion. Blood's A Rover has some of the best marbled boards I've seen, but Silence of the Lambs has great three-quarters leather with embellishments and a nice blind stamp. Both traycases are beautiful. The only thing that puts Silence of the Lambs ahead is that the endpapers for Blood's a Rover are so ordinary. I get that with the marbled boards for the book they maybe didn't want to do marbled endpapers as well, but they could have done something! Patterned, pictorial, etc. Plain black endpapers were really a missed opportunity...
Again, that's not to say it's not a beautiful book! It's one of their best and a definitely a highlight! But since you brought up Silence of the Lambs I felt compelled to make a case...
Thank you, as always, for sharing such wonderful pictures of your beautiful books!! This thread is a visual feast
