We're glad to have you hear, Deb! We set the small hurdle of 5 posts to help cut down on spamming.

As you look around the full forum (not just Calvin's Corner), you'll find lots of places to discuss any and all of the books, whether you love 'em or not. Make yourself at home!

    Question for the group:

I own matching number #290 of the S/L's of WOLVES of the CALLA, SONG of SUSANNAH, THE DARK TOWER, LSOE, and the LSOE AE #290.
Obviously this provides the right to purchase the matching TWITKH S/L in a few months.
Also, because the number is <501, it may someday be built out to a complete set.

I am contemplating whether to keep the books and hopefully build out the full set over time, or whether to cash these out because I have already built out my other set almost completely.

I am not particularly interested in breaking up the set to sell separately. What are your thoughts as to the market value of these books if sold together?

Thanks in advance for your input, guys.

I plan on purchasing a Rage first edition from another collector, but we haven't decided on a price yet. There are various little things wrong with it, the bulk is what is shown on the following two pictures. What is the "worth" of this book, anyone? Thank you in advance.

I think the V,VI,VII are worth about $1,100 and the Matching #'d LSOE/AE are about $900.....

    So, IMO, $2,000......

Just curious, but is there a particular reason for the disparity between a single DT S/L book and LSOE? Am I missing something or is it just chalked up to vagaries of the marketplace?

Just that the LSOE will let you buy the upcoming "Wind in the Keyhold" s/l...or do you mean something else?

Shannon, regarding the Rage, I'll throw out a current value of $150 - $175 (given the condition) in the interest of starting the conversation....

I may be off but I honestly think that is a decent assessment.....

Thanks for the estimate, AKC. Anyone else?

Bill, Rahfa is correct, LSOE # < 801 is in high demand right now because of the shorter supply of TWITKH. Although I will say, the fancy LSOE traycase far outshines the non-descript slipcases of the earlier volumes.

The conversation is started, the book is in my possession, lol. I just have to figure out how much I'd like to offer/pay for it. A fair, market value price.

Hey Guys, fairly new here, I think I was a member many moons ago but couldn't find any record of it, so new account!

I recently started collecting books, after being a longtime reader and booklover. I'm thinking of putting together a complete set of the signed, limited editions by DMG of the Dark Tower series over time, as budget and availability permit. I'm wondering what's the current price on the secondary market for books 6 and 7, brand new in shrinkwrap? This looked like the best place to ask, even though I don't actually have them, sorry if it isn't!

I'm guessing $750-$1000. Everyone is going to want to try and double their money.

It always amazes me how many of King's new books end up on eBay. I've got a S/L IT coming and I'm keeping it!

It will be interesting to see how the market goes. I don't see a doubling in price. It's one thing for 11/22/63, b/c the original price point was $160. But IT at about $475 (book + shipping)?--there's just not that much room for profit I wouldn't think.

If you can believe it there is already one listed on eBay with an opening bid of $750. No takers yet.

I think $750 is a legit price...in fact, I'd be shocked if a few don't sell for much more right after release date.

But - the better question is what does it hold at? Can it maintain $750, or does it roll back to $575-$600? That will probably depend on how many speculators there were in the initial customer base...

One thing to consider is whether or not you want to hold out the option of someday having a set with all matching numbers. If so, you'll want to focus on numbers < 501. If not, then you'll have a wider array of opportunities.
