Uh, I avoid MSRP at all costs. I don't care who sells it. Maybe not Al Qaeda Books.

Interesting how some here are referring to the title as Mister and some as Mr w/o the dot and some with the dot. The only cover I see w/o the dot is the UK one. The U.S. cover uses the smiley face for the dot (and on the spine). I wonder if the absence of a dot on the UK cover is a mistake.

My wife and son work at Costco. I like to support Costco as they provide a true living wage and offer good health care benefits.

I agree however I have zero local bookstores in my area. The only local shops are used pb places that do not sell new releases. Within a 30 mile radius my available options are walmart, book a million, or Sams.

Walmart has done far more damage than Al-Qaeda ever will. I don't support either one.

Really? So, if Walmart had a stack of Gunslinger 1st Editions for $1. you wouldn't support them?

The answer to your question is that I wouldn't even know about it since I don't shop there.

So is the Dutch edition of 1000 copies is going to be the only special edition?

The British don't use a period after if the abbreviation is the first and last letter. US does, with at least one exception I know of - Dr Pepper. I'm sure there are others.

I'm probably guilty of using Mister Mercedes. My dog is Mister Lucky and my rabbit is Mister Bun-Bun. The title is officially Mr. Mercedes or as Lurker pointed out Mr Mercedes in the UK & Commonwealth.

Aside from missing The Book Expo, I am glad I did not take the quick trip I was considering to NYC for the day the book released.
Would have been really tough and tiring trying to find a signing opportunity if he was not there to promote Mr. Mercedes.

They wait to get an actual 1st/1st before sizing the slipcase to ensure the fit. The slipcased version is always six-eight(?) weeks later than the publication date.

Bill - I'm picking up a bunch of these tomorrow for others - I can add you to the list if you like.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

Since King isn't scheduling ANY signings for this book, I have a feeling that a signed copy is going to be VERY scarce. Perhaps if he stops in a book store and signs some, that may be the only source.
