Today in the evening, they think the water in the Hamburg harbour is again 6,10+++ METER over the normal level..... but i think/hope....
again no big problems for my Hometown.
Everyone is well prepared in Hamburg since in the big Hamburg flood 1962 more than 300 people get killed.

we are entering the darkest times, literally
today the sun rose at 11 and will go down at 16:55... and the daylight will last less and less for one more week, with Dec 22 the darkest.... and then the day will slowly, slowwwwwwwwwly increase... I know it's much worse for our friends in Alaska, but to have only a few hours of daylight for months is so hard! especially since the sky is clouded even then, or there's a snostrorm or some other shit
(then, of course, in May and June we'll have daylight for 24 hours)

We had our first snow on the 8th, which is crazy early for us. Then we got more on Tuesday, and we're supposed to get more on Saturday/Sunday. It hasn't been too much (a few inches), but pretty frequent.

I think you guys have already gotten more snow than us so far this year. We've had little snow storms but they haven't amounted to much until this weekend. We did have an ice storm the weekend after Thanksgiving, but that only affected the people that were on the road early. There's a video floating around somewhere, I'll have to dig it up, but basically there was a 70 car pile up on a highway that runs through Worcester in central Mass. It was crazy, cars were facing every direction possible!

What's the weather like? Everything is covered in inches of ice, that's what the weather is like. Been without power for 3 of the last 6 days.

Yup...all snowed in... and a predicted high of -2. So I called my Mom to see if she needed anything. It was halfway through the conversation that I realized my car got stuck in the road 30 feet from my driveway so I was trapped too!
Snowed in too. My first aid class is cancelled, my daughter's school is cancelled too.
Seriously, fuck you, snow.

I had hoped the winter wouldn't come this year, but no such luck. It only started later than usual, and will probably continue well into May, to make up for the uncommonly good December.

It's freezing here every day, but there hasn't been enough precipitation to amount to anything. [grumpy face]
I tire of white out conditions and I have had new snow rits around the house a car every day this week. Mind you, not new snow everyday.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
