Good catch, Jerome.
In regards to the spelling of place names - if you listen to the audiobooks, you never know there was a problem.
At one point, one of the bookies recommends that Jake bet on the Bears to win the NFC, but there was no NFC until the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. I pointed this out on SKMB (in a thread on errors in the book) and Ms. mod practically bit my head off.

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
The tracking number for my suspect 11/22/63 isn't registering on the USPS website even though it was supposed to have been shipped yesterday early in the day. I asked the seller for it again to see if it was a digit or two off around 9am est and still haven't gotten a response. He's starting to irritate me. First he uses what I thought were legitimate photos of the item I was buying (they weren't, he used the same photos for three previous 11/22/63s), then sells other supposed signed books that looked suspect, and now he is being extremely lax about responding to me. If your going to rip me off at least be courteous about it.
I feel bad. I confirmed the signature was legit.
But, as you mention, the picture he was using WAS legit. It just didn't necessarily represent the item you were going to receive.
How fucked up is that?

Not your fault man. You didn't do anything but give your opinion. Hes the tool.
Just opened my S/L this morning...
No signature page.
MF Son of a B....
F... S&S

They seem like a bunch of dopes at S&S. Seriously.
Thank god my mess up with the gift edition of IT from CD is with them. Seems the postoffice has lost it and I did not insure it (my bad) and they (CD, not the lame USPS) are still wanting to make it right. That is the major difference from small press vs. the big guys. If that had been S&S, I would have been up s--t creek without a paddle.
Wish List:
Any of the following flatsigned or inscribed-
It, Shining, Salem’s Lot, Mr. Mercedes, The Stand
Brother ARC, Seed ARC
You would have had a paddle...it just would've been a damaged one
Received a mint copy of the S/L 11/22/63. I cut the top of the shrinkwrap and was able to slide the shrinkwrap off to confirm it had a King signature. I was able to slide the "loosened" shrinkwrap back on the book.
thanks for the idiot comment.
first, I think we both said we open the shrink wrap, (carefully from one end) and slide it off - and we DO look at the books and the sigs. (and the pictues , etc) - I even photgraph many of them.
then, like an idiot, I slide the books back into the original shrink wrap that often contains publisher stickers on them My belief is that the shrinkwrap also keeps the book tight (which might help prevent spine lean). Though not airtight (since the endcap has been opened) the shrink keeps most of the dust off the book ( my books are in the bookcases with glass doors, but somehow dust ends up in there anyway overtime). The shrink also prevents any stray bugs from pooping on them, and... fingerprints on the covers should I decide to reorder my bookcases.
Yes, I am one of those idiots that do not read high dollar limiteds or proofs... I buy hardback reading copies of each book to read (I also buy extra hardbacks that I don't read to keep in perfect condtion)
I just happen to be one of those idiot collectors that likes to keep my collection in as pristine condition as possible.... and have enough spare change to spend on reading copies.
If you had taken the time to look, you would see that very few of my books are shrinkwrapped. If you had also taken the time to read then you would know that I did "open the book"
It is certainly your prerogative to think of me as an idiot, as it is mine to think of you as an asshole-whether or not I put a smilie at the end of this statement.
