'Palaver' A 9 x 11 inch hanging wall art relief sculpture (which could also be stood on a picture stand on a bookshelf or other furniture).
This one is in antique bronze finish but there is no reason I can't offer antique silver. It will have a Name/Limitation plate mounted on the back made in solid bronze and will be limited to 50 pieces only.
The Photos are pretty difficult to capture the true shine and colour in the bronze so I took several to show from various angles, it's the same as the Crimson King pictures I posted back on page 11/12 of this thread. The bronze being real bronze has it's own natural variance.
£20 GBP from every sale will be donated to the Haven Fund.
Prices including shipping via UPS are as follows-
USA & Canada £160
UK £145
Australia £175
Rest of the world will be quoted individually due to varying shipping costs but likely to be for the majority somewhere between the UK & USA prices.
Payments through Paypal.
As there will be only 50 available worldwide please get your orders in quickly by email or PM to ensure you don't miss out. I'll match numbers wherever possible to those that have Constant Reader or Jake & Oy-Silflay sculptures.
As my sculptures are made to order it can take an estimated 4 weeks for me to ship items dependent on my workload and schedule. I ask for patience when placing orders and assure that tracking will be provided when orders ship.
Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
Rachel

That is awesome! Beautiful work!
As an exclusive to the Haven Fund I will be offering 5 hand painted editions of Palaver marked HF 1-5.
These will be £350 GBP plus shipping and £100 will be donated to the fund for each of the 5 sales.
To make it fair and allow eveyone a chance if more than 5 people wish to buy these then we will draw names from a hat to decide who gets them. Please PM me by the closing date of midnight GMT on 20th April 2014 to have a chance to purchase one of these very limited edition pieces.
Any questions fire away!
Also in the pipeline for the Haven Fund is a quadruple original art (remarqued) book. Expect a reveal of this and auction in about a week...

Another item up for grabs, the original In Mint Condition 2013 'Seagrass Encounter' illustration. This is pencil on 100% cotton rag Bristol Board. £250 plus shipping with £50 going to the Haven Fund. This can be boarded and matted or fully framed at actual cost if desired, or shipped as is so the buyer can frame it themself.
Also up for grabs are 4 original Carrie pieces. These are pen and ink on rag Bristol. 2 are the actual pieces used by Dick Olson as the etchings on the Carrie art/slip cases. The other two are alternate options that were not used for etchings but became pieces I did as full colour originals that were placed inside the finished limited edition art cases and sold by Dick. They did change somewhat from these pen and ink pieces when I did the full colour versions. £150 each plus shipping, £25 from each donated to Haven. Again these can be boarded /matted or fully framed at cost if desired.
As with the painted editions of Palaver, if I have lots of people that want these then I will draw names from a hat to give everyone a fair crack at them.
To clarify a little on the painted editions of Palaver, I am thinking of either a bronze frame with painted centre/image or an ivory/bone finish frame with painted centre. I haven't made them yet and am undecided on the finish at this point but hopefully in about two weeks I'll have one of each ready to paint. In the meantime here are some example pictures of the ivory/bone finish on other items to at least give an idea how it would look.

Just for the purpose of showing what else I've done recently, here are a few example comic book style pieces I did for my portfolio with a nod in the direction of Bernie Wrightson, Vault Of Horror, Creepshow etc. I sent these along to Mindy over at CD with lots of other examples of my work.

Jesus Christ! Firstly, amazing stuff, but duh, you knew that. Secondly, when do you have time to sleep? lol
Haha not often Shannon! 8.30-17.30 day job, come home have coffee and work on the art until 2am with a 1hr break to have dinner, plus working all weekend. I even work 2 Saturdays each month in my day job. I quite often wonder how I keep going but I just do, somehow. It's no easy life being an artist, believe me, at least not for me anyway, boo hoo sob sob J/K.
I do have some quieter times where I'm not under so much pressure but it seems to be less and less of late. I'd like to eventually drop the day job and concentrate on art full time, which would change everything but until the income from the art becomes steady and reaches a point where I can afford to do that I've got to carry on as things are. I'm sure many of you work just as long and hard.

Beautiful work, Rachel!
"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
I feel sortof bad, ashamed even, that I did not purchase the Seagrass Encounter piece from In Mint Condition 2014, as I thought it was a fantastic addition to my story. It's just that I don't collect art or prints or what have you (I'm not even the least bit interested in remarques), and I need to save my collecting $$ for books. So I'm going public with my praise for the piece and I hope someone might like it also and decide to buy it.
Very cool endorsement from the creator, so to speak.
So folks, where are we on these absolutely stunning items that, Rachel has worked so very hard on bringing to the Haven Fund???? Great artwork, reasonable prices, what more could you ask?
Thanks again, Rachel for your inspired support of the cause!!!

Thanks to all of you and particularly David for his post regarding Seagrass Encounter. It's good to know that as the author of the short story, you feel I got the artwork right. You don't have to feel bad about not buying the piece, I enjoyed creating it and only hoped that it would have your approval and make In Mint Condition a diverse, interesting, complete and imaginative collection. We can safely say that was the result we got and everyone involved did a great job. Roll on the next IMC.
On the items for sale and contribution to the Haven Fund, I hope everything does sell so that I can put in a big contribution. At the same time, I do understand that many people don't collect art or simply can't afford to buy these things or prefer to spend their money on books. There will of course be those who don't like my work. No problem, each to their own, we're all friends here and I'll contribute whatever I can from the sales I do make.
Along with some of the current auctions and the BIG announcement Bill is about to make as well as items to come soon, things appear to be going very well and I hope we can reach our goal and go beyond it and smash all previous donations.
I'll have the next Haven Fund item done in a couple of days too, I'm working on it now...

I will I will! Just give me a few days to decide which piece lol. Thanks Merlin!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Stay where you are! I already have! LOL
