I read the first one a couple months ago... it alternates between being hilariously bad and nauseatingly bad. The hilariously bad parts can actually be enjoyable... probably not in the way the author meant, though.

It's getting a little better... I'm having problems with the names. Question: When a book is translated into another language, why don't they change the names? I like the idea of keeping them but it is just so confusing and I'm not sure on pronunciation, which bothers me. I just figure if you are going to change every other word in the book you might as well come up with a similar name that would be easier to keep track of. And what kind of jerk author puts both a Thomas and Tommy in as major characters?!Keep reading. It's a good one.

EDIT: you know what the real joke is? My dad's name is Tom and my brother's Tommy, so it does happen. Especially with Thomases!

Finished up all the Dresden Files that are out, and am now slowly working my way through The Interpretation Of Murder, by Jed Rubenfeld.

I was going to start Simmon's Drood but wasn't sure if I needed to actually know anything about Drood. So, reading the Mystery of Edwin Drood.

My stepdad is Tommy and my ex-husband was a Tommy (I saw was because he is now known as Thomas and it just gripes my ass but that's just me) so my little sisters started the habit of calling the ex by his first and last name.
