Hi,
I have a question/request that didn't know where to post (was thinking of "Book Signings and Appearances-Tips and experiences" thread but not sure this is the right place...). It's not related to SK, but maybe someone can help or would find it useful to himself.
There is a book signing in B&N in NYC on 4/1/14 at 5:00 PM. The author is Pelé - the world most famous soccer player ever ! he will sign his new book. Details here - http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/event/83158
This will be his only signing event is USA (no other events scheduled as far as I could find). It is a great opportunity to meet him and get his valuable book signed.
Unfortunately, I live in Nashville and can't attend....So...I'm looking for someone who is going and can get a signed book for me as well. Don't know where else to post this so if you have a good advise - it will help as well.
Hope I didn't started a fire here... (and also hope it's not April fools...)
Thanks
Shac

Would any one in the UK mind picking me up a hardback copy of The Echo by James Smythe. I would just order from amazon but I trust you guys to ship it better.
Thanks!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
I think you should just order it online. That way it's already paid for, and they will ship it to stroppy's address for free. They will also deliver to a US address by courier for £12.50.

That's a good idea. Does waterstones use a box or something sturdy to ship or do they use a padded mailer?
Not sure on Waterstones, but it's going to be hard to beat that shipping price. Anything more than 1kg is going to cost a minimum of £12-14

Ok. I will probably do that then. Thanks stroppy for offering to help.

If any one in the UK could keep an eye out for one these that would great. It is a limited edition of Bird Box by Josh Malerman with fancy black page edges. According to Harper Voyagers facebook page they were only in independent book stores. I have had no luck finding one online. Thanks in advance.
Joe, I'm not in UK but am in Ireland and it's possible some of them are in independent bookshops here so I'll keep an eye out. It might be worth calling some of the bookshops in the UK as well to see if they have one or would post to you - or even emailing them which might be cheaper.
Here's a list: http://www.theguardian.com/books/boo...shop-directory
It's also possible some of these might eventually make their way onto www.abebooks.co.uk as a lot of independent bookshops in UK list on there.
Good luck finding it! And I promise to keep an eye out in Ireland.
Thanks Jonah(?). I've checked abebooks and a couple other places. I will check out that list. Thanks for posting, and looking.
