There was a cancellation during my kid's Pirates League session at Disney World, so of course I had to participate. From what I saw throughout the day in Magic Kingdom, I was the only adult that looked like a pirate!!

It's 5:30am here, and I sit in my parents living room rocking my new born baby to sleep on the morning that I say goodbye to my Dad who passed away 2 weeks before he could meet her.

My emotions are all over the place, but know that I love them both dearly, and will try my damnedest to make sure I raise her with the injection of humour and love that I received.

I'm hoping that his wicked sense of humour shines through in her character.

She may not have met him, but she will know all about her Grandpops.

My condolences shaq. After reading your post I felt that I wanted to share my own experience. My father's mother passed away a year before I was born but in so many ways I feel as if I knew her in life. The reason for that is because growing up my father would tell me all these wonderful stories about her. I grew up learning about her amazing inner strength and the struggles she went through in her life. It was the stories that made her real for me and even after all these years I still feel this strong bond with my grandmother who I never met. I feel as if she's with me often. So I'm sure if you tell your daughter stories about your father he will live on for her throughout her life. Wishing you much strength through the loss and all the joy with your new daughter.
