Should the "Occupy" event be an annual Haven Fund Raiser event?

Perhaps something even more clear than "Occupy" that's still fun for everyone. Like, for a membership drive, maybe the annual themes could themselves relate to SK novels. How about calling it "Drawing" like Drawing of the Three? If everybody invited three people, that could bring up the numbers a lot next time.

Can this forum do an e-mail blast to the members of events that are upcoming?

The last time I sent an email to every member on the site, my son who hosts the site on his server(s) went apoplectic. 10K emails started to generate spam warnings for major ISP's and email hosts. It was a real PITA. That plus I didn't put an "Opt out" disclaimer at the end of the email.
I will have to check with him before doing that again.

I'm a real neophyte when it comes this stuff, but isn't it easier and more effective to utilize "Twitter/FB" to accomplish this task? Is the site on FB?

What are the rules regarding advertising the site for events like this in sites such as the SK forum?

You mean SK.com? I don't know, but if too many of their members started posting here, it might change the atmosphere of this site. I kind of prefer this community to that one, actually, kind of. I'd rather look for members among the as-yet-un-King-educated. I'm sure we could "advertise" there about fundraiser for Haven Foundation, however.

Oh, I agree!!! If anything is to be done between this site and King's or the Haven site it should be handled by, Jerome et al. But I like where folks were going regarding social media. I have no handle on that stuff whatsoever, but I am a willing student and you all know I'm all up and into expanding and growing the Haven Fund each year!!! Keep the suggestions coming!!! Fortunately, we have a whole year to cement next year's strategy!!!

I kind of like that concept... Perhaps "The Drawing" @ DT.org. or "The Drawing" of the Org, "The Drawing" of the Haven or something which also give identity to Haven Foundation.
I also seem to recall that back when Matt facilitated the prior verson of this site, I believe the time it had the highest online presence was the evening they did the live drawing of prizes associated with the HF Fundraiser.

That's a very good point, Jim and I think you may be right!!! Path, those are all viable options and Jim's thoughts are good as well!!!! While I really enjoyed being the "Director for a Day" and instigating the "Chaos" I think it is really important to pass the mantle around and get others involved as well. I will, as I am sure will others, always be available for support, but I think new blood has to be pumped in every year. Keep the suggestions coming!!!! We're making some headway here!!!
