Hah! You mean this wasn't 'direct'?

"It is heavily implied that the signed artist editions of Little Sisters of Eluria with the remarks from the artist were never shipped to customers. If this is so, and you have a copy available, I would love to buy one. If not, and you want to refute the claim - you might want to go to the website!"
Or, Robert is a master Logician:
Let A = "the signed artist editions of Little Sisters of Eluria with the remarks from the artist were never shipped to customers"
Let B = "you have a copy"
Let C = "you want to refute"
Your statement could be parsed as:If A and B, then "I would love to buy one"He is clearly responding to "Not B", which is not actually an option you gave him. Nothing can be proved about A (or C) given Not B. We need more information.
If NOT A and C, then "you might want to go to the website"
(Apparently, I'm going as Charles Dodgson for Halloween.)
Mike, your mathematicized replies always crack me up!
10-12 full remarques? That is interesting news.

Haha....I started to wonder when the PalaverCon artwork would works its way into the conversation. I guarantee they are hanging in his collection. I even helped Robert load them after the event. His excuse when asked "why again didn't these get auctioned like advertised?"........."too wet for anyone to handle" was his comment.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with this expression. What does it mean?too wet for anyone to handle

He inferred the paintings had not dried.
Oh, we're talking about the paintings made during the Con! Now I get it.
Thanks, Jerome.

Karen why don't you just clarify what the situation is with the remarque's once and for all so everyone understands?
There was a major discussion about the paintings after the con ended and it had to do with Michael, Rick, Phil and Robert...they decided that Robert could do what he wanted with them when the con was over since he didn't make any money from the con itself. He's an art collector...you figure it out
I meant with the Little Sister's remarques
Hmm...Karen had one. Maybe the other 10-11 were randomly distributed into Robert's personal bookshelves.
I wonder if the paint has dried on those paintings yet.

WANTED
Signed 1st Edition of Storm of The Century (Paperback)
I am a customer of Donald M Grant Publishers -- I purchased artist editions of LSOE, TWTHK, i have all the Grant Gunslinger Books . i purchased from their website = GS BOOKS 2, 3, 4 Black HOuse and Talisman all 7 slipcases purchased directly from them. the providence of the others are in question, but someone bought them from grant and I bought from them!
I think this subject has been "talked" about for years. A true mystery. I would truly like this to be cleared up so we can move on. Before it gets buried again. I never intended to unwrap my copy until the "possibility" of a remark was brought up again. If the remarks were not available to the public then Donald M GRant books should so state. I gave them an opportunity to address this, but they simply stated all copies were sold out. Just tell us what happened and move on. A "Cover UP" is what gets everyone in trouble eventually.
I am not looking for gossip, stories or innuendo. Just the truth. I think I can handle the truth. No one ever got into trouble for telling the truth. (Lernt that from my gramma). I dont need a dirty secret or long drawn out story. I am not trying to slander or put down a company (couldnt do it if i tried). Just let me know if when i ordered my books, did i really have a chance to get a remarked copy. Was it a book selling ploy or a real possibility?
This is on their website:
Michael Whelan told us that he did drawings on 30 - 50 of the signature pages when he was signing them and we have no idea which numbered copies they ended up in. He sent us photos of two of them and one is posted here. If you receive one of these be aware that the value of these books are probably in excess of $1,000 as copies of the Artist Edition of THE DARK TOWER VII in which Michael made similar drawings sold on ebay or to collectors for over $1,200 each. I expect that most of these copies will remain undiscovered for years as many collectors never take the shrink wrap off their books..
I hate stories without endings, if someone would like to PM me with the true story, I CAN KEEP A SECRET (if you insist it be kept secret). Otherwise i will lose sleep over the endless possibilities.
My computer crashed as i was trying to edit my text above. Conspiracy by GRant? Someone is watching? Gotta go now.
Karen may have brought up the subject, but why are you pressing her for more? Besides, all she said was that the odds were very against you finding one...and given that less than one percent of the books contained remarques, that is a very true statement.
It was years ago. You should move on...it is hardly the mystery you are making it out to be. Either they were in books sold, or they were not....and given that at least 2/3 of the books were sold to folks who are NOT members here (my estimation), it is not out of the realm of possibility that they are sitting in the hands of collectors.
I was affected by this more than most here...by which I mean I bought ten+ copies looking for one. I never found one, and I sold off my spare copies at or above, and in some case below the price I bought them for. I used to grumble about the fact that nobody that I knew of found one, but I have gotten over it.
And let me ask this of the people that continue to grumble....had there NOT been any remarqued copies, would that have stopped you from buying a AE LSOE? Did your suspicions stop you from buying an AE of TWTTK? I suspect for most, the answer would be NO.
If YOU think there was a scam pulled here, then stop buying from Grant. But don't bother a guy trying to run a business with your theories that you have no evidence to support. Like he said, the books are sold out, there is really nothing more for him to say on the matter.
