IMO ... it should be much higher than it's current $1025 bid. Much closer to $2000 and perhaps as high as $3000 with much luck.

They did, Jeremy, but not with the slipcase pictured in your auction. The original was a plain red slipcase - not with the lettering on the spine or with snaps. That's why I was asking, but thanks anyway!

I dunno...it's certainly not worth more without the original slipcase, but the one this comes with is a lot nicer than the original's cheap cardboard. It's a pretty good buy-it-now price either way.

It is no longer #217. They renumbered the rooms quite a while ago but it is still the most booked room at the hotel.
Bob when did Rm 217 go away at the Stanley. When I was there in 2003 it was stil there! Here's the proof!

The room the King's stayed in was 217 in the 1970's but is numbered something else now. I was there only once in 2002 and was told this while on a guided tour. Who knows if the tour guide knew what they were talking about or not? It's a very old hotel and the rooms may have been renumbered multiple times over the years.
I recommend any King fan who can to visit the Stanley Hotel at least once. It was VERY memorable for me.
