But yet people will stay on the 14th floor in those same hotels which is really the 13th floor. ::shrugs::

IMO ... it should be much higher than it's current $1025 bid. Much closer to $2000 and perhaps as high as $3000 with much luck.

In actuality it may have had the opposite effect. At the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park the room the Kings stayed in is almost always booked just because it is the room the Kings stayed in. It is no longer #217. They renumbered the rooms quite a while ago but it is still the most booked room at the hotel.

Agreed. In today's market it will probably top out around $1850. 16 active bidders and 1 day left. The bid will go up.

I was commenting because yesterday morning it was still around $300. I agree it'll go higher, too.

And apparently he really believes that, too. I emailed him yesterday.
    Dear jrnappr5rnb,

Do you happen to know where that slipcase came from? I'm thinking of having some made for other books and I like how that one looks. Thanks!
    His reply:
    Dear gsvec,

All 1,000 books came with the same slip case wheb there were originaly sold. Thanks, Jeremy

    - jrnappr5rnb
So I, of course, had to reply back.
    Dear jrnappr5rnb,

They did, Jeremy, but not with the slipcase pictured in your auction. The original was a plain red slipcase - not with the lettering on the spine or with snaps. That's why I was asking, but thanks anyway!

It'll be interesting to see if I hear from him again.

I dunno...it's certainly not worth more without the original slipcase, but the one this comes with is a lot nicer than the original's cheap cardboard. It's a pretty good buy-it-now price either way.

I don't know why people don't just put in 1 bid, their highest.

One bidder on this, medtentravel, put in 7 bids. Another one called killbourne.kram put in 6. Even Juliana had 3 goes.

I can't actually "see" it, other than what everyone else sees. I can work out who each person is though. I put a long-winded explanation on a thread somewhere, but I can't remember where.

I've probably got things confused but, IIRC, the rooms have been renumbered. So the current room 217 is not the original room 217. The room the King's stayed in was 217 in the 1970's but is numbered something else now. I was there only once in 2002 and was told this while on a guided tour. Who knows if the tour guide knew what they were talking about or not? It's a very old hotel and the rooms may have been renumbered multiple times over the years.

I recommend any King fan who can to visit the Stanley Hotel at least once. It was VERY memorable for me.

That's about the going rate for today's market for the BlackHouse set with Ricks Added Value Remarque in it.

That auction, even though Sheila showed it with a S/L Blackhouse, didn't include the traycased s/l. I had to read the auction twice myself.
