Here is what I've been able to do digitally. Very simple concept, horrible execution.
The ring is based on this illusion. I wanted something other than the snake-eating-tail ring, and felt this Mobius-strip style ring is the same idea.
I'm 95% certain I want yellow/orange/sunset colors behind the Ka.
Haven't figured out what color to do the ring in yet. Leaning towards blues or greens. Anything that works with the orange but
not red.
This is
awful but shows what I was thinking for the ring coloring. I'd like it shaded like the original image, but a color that works with the background.
I will also be adding this 64 (my tet's number) smaller, within the ring, around the 2:00/2:30 position.
If anyone feels like playing around with this, go for it! I'm totally open to suggestions and ideas. Does the ring work better without outlines? I've found a local artist who does stunning watercolor-style tattoos- how would incorporating that kind of coloring on this work? Maybe the background can extend beyond the boundary of the ring? Will coloring the Ka symbol something other than black work? What size ratio between the Ka and the ring makes the best composition? These are all the questions I don't have the resources to experiment with on my own.
