Weird, I was reading The Day It Rained Forever around 7 am today. Great collection. The Town Where No One Gets Off is now one of my favourite short stories.
Let's hope we can all have a life as long as Mr.Bradbury has had. Rest In Peace maestro.
/mumbling : I cant help but thinking that i shouldnt have said that i wasnt available before september when i had my job interview 2 weeks ago. I should just have said my 2 months notice. I feel smucking stupid to have basically have eliminated myself.
It was such a great job offer & location... and i gave up for finishing this project, which i am certain will have some troubles in august... responsabilities sucks, as said someone...
Since then, i applied last week to a similar position, about 200 meters away. It seems to be on less interesting websites though.
I didnt have t he exact profile (as they were asking for 5 years of experience), so they still didnt call me (will do on friday). If i have a job interview, i wonder what i should do : september (and possibly regret it again) or earlier.

Whichever time you choose, be sure to let the restaurant know you're planning on proposing. They'll likely seat you at one of the better tables (quieter, nicer view), and would probably bring out complimentary champange or dessert. I had the proposal arranged to be right after the main course. Once my the waiter saw me drop to one knee, he was there almost immediately afterwards with two glasses of champagne!
Good thinking, but yes I think (& hope) she will. A few weeks ago she said (after I joked we should look at rings) that she would be happy getting married. The things that were holding us back before was that she was at university, she didn't have a job & we didn't have a place to live ... All those boxes are now ticked :-)
We Brits would never propose unless we were certain the partner would accept.
Exactly, I make enough of a fool of myself as it is :-)

Yeah i think i have to propose before the meal, i'm not sure my nerves would cope lasting the whole meal ... i'm way to nervous already and there's still over 3 weeks to go ...
There is 2 ways to consider it :
- at the end and you stress out for the whole dinner.. but then you can go and have a nice evening
- at the beginning, and you both enjoy a very nice dinner afterwards
but i would tend to guess that if it was me, i'd go at the end. It seems to make more sense to me
"Good luck", or whatever one can say in that situation

When I visit Yankee Stadium on the 27th, there will be a Happy 30th Anniversary Announcement on the board - my wife doesn't have a clue about it. Sometime between the 4th and 5th innings I think.

That's neat! Congratulations!

Tom, I recommend after dinner in that little space of time before dessert arrives. That way you two have had time for a conversation about what an awesome couple you make and what you both want in the long term, like how many kids and all that, plus by then you'll have had a couple of drinks to steel your nerves.
Just a thought.
Do what feels right for you.
27 minutes until the weekend starts...what could go wrong in 27 minutes???
Don't you know yet? Never ask what could go wrong cause you'll usually find out when you do.
Lucky you! I know I'd have lost just for daring to say that...I still would though. LOL
