The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
LOL! I'm not sure that will work. This was my first purchase from David and I think if she misses the CC bill she will certainly notice the box of books! Of course given the level of interest my wife shows in my "hobby" she might not notice my upgraded Cujo and Thinner...We will see.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
Congrats Bill! That mean you'll be stopping by C-Springs sometime soon?

Crap! There is no mail delivery today. I forgot. I am expecting some new artwork to be delivered. Guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow.
I hope you'll share one or two pics with us when you get it!
I will. It is what most (including myself) would consider a minor piece but I am glad to have found it.
I am waiting to recieve my IT 25 years anniversary (CD) !
And... random comments? well===>

eBay drives me mad, 13 purchases in 4 years.
Sniped with 2 seconds to go after 4 days as sole bidder on from a buick8, great price.
Sniped by someone with over 1000 purchases!!! Aaahhhh!!!
no doubt to appear at later date for a higher price!!!
Naive and bitter!!!
Ps suppose that's what its there for! But it sucks!!!! No malice intended, just wanted my bargain!
Next time.
Shaq
Edited to say, hopefully someone Somewhere is v happy and looking forward getting it on their bookshelf
Did you bid the max you were willing to pay? If so, no regrets.
Why not use a sniping service yourself?
Hi, I probably would have gone Ģ10 more, so no-one to blame but myself, just venting.
Sniping service - Little extreme assassinating the other buyer over a book!! you can get anything on the net nowadays
I don't buy often on eBay, and never used a sniping tool but I may look into getting one if I see something I like again. At least have a better chance.
Ended up buying talisman from Shannon to compensate
Cheers
Something i learned by using it (and i "only" have like 220 items purchased off ebay) is that one should NEVER bid early. It shows your interest in your item, and will only increase bids. Even if its a low one.
I only bid in the last day, if possible at the end.
Regarding snipe, someone once shared a snipper i once used, but cant find t he link anymore. It was a free one..

Hi,
thanks for the advice, I'll take the late bidding into consideration.
try and find a balance of timing and price!
Cheers, Dave
I am of the school of thought that you should enter the maximum amount you would be willing to pay, and if you get sniped then you shouldn't care, because the other person was willing to pay more than you.
I think there is a fallacy in thinking, "Oh, I bid $100 but a sniper came in and took it for only $100.50. I lost by only fifty cents." Without knowing what max the sniper entered, there's no way to know how much you really "lost" by. I don't really think that adding another sniper to the mix results in a lower price paid by the eventual winner.
I might bid early as a placeholder, just in case I forget about it....but never above the bare minimum. I usually plan to come back later.
But the best strategy is to know your personal maximum, and then snipe it at the last second....if you lose, it doesn't matter because you lost it for more than you were willing to pay anyhow...and if you win, as was said, you avoid a bidding war.
I do love sniping people with minimal feedback - because I know they're new, and think "I can't believe I'm going to great deal!" And then they lose at the last second and their witty-bitty hearts are crushed.
Yeah but when you put the book on the market again 10 mins later for Ģ50 more, is when my heart really pops!!!!
So lesson is....bid late, poss with snipe thing, put in highest you willing to pay, no regrets, avoid bid wars! Cool.
I sort of was expecting some late bid, but 2 seconds, that did crush the wittybitty heart!, seriously thanks for the advice
Haha...yeah, it just takes some practice. Believe me, I got sniped on plenty of my early auctions and I always wondered why people were waiting until the last minute. "That's not fair! That's not how an auction works!" Haha...
But, yeah, when the same item shows up very soon after that's pretty aggrvating (although I've done that too...)
I've never used a snipe service.
Me neither Patrick, i just wait until the last 10 secs (if i can) and bid my top bid, if i get it i get it, if i don't i don't. 9 times out of 10 there will be another chance.
Finally finished the editing process for my book yesterday and am now just waiting on Glenn Chadbourne for the rest of the artwork. Jerome is reading it at the moment to see if he approves other than him only 2 other people have read the book which is set around my house. One of those people came over last night and was so freaked out walking home in the dark thinking of the story she had to talk to me and my girlfriend on the phone until she reached the town proper I took it as a compliment!
I use snipe services sometimes , but sometimes they donīt work the way they should
I missed out on an anthologies proof , my maxbid with the sniping service was $90 but it didnīt work for some reason .
And the book was sold for $22 ( and now i canīt find that proof )
I only use it now when thereīs auctions ending in the middle of the night
I've never used a snipe service, either. If I can't be bothered to actually bid on the item myself, I figure I don't really want it...
