Right back atcha ... I'm jealous of everyone outside the US who gets to celebrate with fireworks tonight. I miss that!

You'll have to come to Sydney, Australia one day George - our NYE harbour fireworks are the best in the world (no, true, they are)

You've got a deal brother! About ten minutes or so to go here; our fireworks are courtesy of the AdAmAn (Add a Man) Club, a small group that hikes Pike's Peak every new year. They start on the 30th, overnight at Barr Camp, them complete the ascent on the 31st. They pack up some fireworks on their backs and launch them from the summit at midnight. They've been doing this since the 20's from what I understand, every year they add one person to the group ... with attrition of older members it stays around thirty. They do it no matter the weather, have done it 50 below zero. Crazy. But at least it gives us a little something to watch; they're not huge at 20-some odd miles away and 14,000 feet high, but we can see them from our house and all up and down the front range.

So the East Coast is getting pounded with snow and here in Minnesota we are getting the following for the weekend:
Sat night -20 F -28.8C
Sun night -26 F -32C
Monday night -20 F and -28.8C (again)
and next Friday we should see 31 F or -1C
Crazy......
And that is without the wind--throw that in and much colder-5 hours north of here it could hit -40 C or more

Ouch. I was just out on the patio at the pub. Clear blue skies, no wind, and 66 degrees. Of course I am in a t-shirt.
The only thing cold here is the beer.
