I knew there was an explanation here somewhere some time ago. Thanks, Mr. R.T. for pointing it out.
Post #106 is on page 5 of this thread.

You are most welcome.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Just started to get into ARC's....I am really interested in obtaining The Stand Uncut black/white trade cover. I have found 2 copies out there, one on ebay and the other on ABE. Both are more then $500, is that about the right price for one of these or have any of you guys picked one up for a lot cheaper?
The price should be around $250-300 in my opinion. Even a few years ago, when King was "hotter" than he seems to be now, they were going for about $300. You might try offering a lower amount to the dealer. A lot of them are willing to deal.

I updated the UK Lisey's Story numbered proof to a possible maximum of 226 copies due to this auction:

Is there a price Guide / Proof Identification list any where? Just starting to get into these and need a education.
If it weren't for integrity...what would you be? Ka is a wheel.....
I'd like to remind everyone that the ones I have pictured in my collections pages are those that I actually own. I have pictures of many of the others that I don't own that I haven't posted.

This shows that you should never buy when things first show up on eBay. This one sold for $15

But sometimes, if you don't buy right away, they almost NEVER show up again.

From Mod at SKMB:
I'd have to check on that but my bound galley cover says November for Scribner's release and it's unlikely that the UK would be ahead of the US.
So, there's a bound galley of "Under The Dome" already.
Which kind of "proof" is that? (the bound galley)
Wanted list:
Ubris
A "bound galley" normally indicates a bound state of a copy of the manuscript. Because Under the Dome has an issue date sometime in November, I wouldn't expect an actual Advance Reading Copy (ARC) or proof until at least the end of August or the beginning of September. I got my copy of the proof of Just After Sunset (another November release) on August 29 of last year.
One more common example of a "bound galley" is that of Bag of Bones. A picture of this follows. It's relatively scarce, but can be found occasionally.
John
November 10 is the release date now, and Scribner lists the book as 1038 pages
The kind of "bound galley" shown above is sometimes also referred to as "page proofs." The pages aren't trimmed to the final size.
Nov 10 is not correct according to the Mod at SKMB:
"That is not the correct date. It's being released in mid-November"
"I've started reading it now that the final edits have been done. I was told by Scribner it should be described as bound manuscript/s rather than bound galley".
"Steve still hasn't given permission for me to give out any information about the plot."
"The cover art is still being developed to the best of my knowledge. The bound manuscripts (it's in three parts) only have the basic information, i.e. author, title, Volume number with pertinent info, publisher and November 2009 on the cover, and For Your Eyes Only"
The date she was correcting was the Oct 15 date someone posted for the release of the audio version, which is how it's listed at Amazon.

I've read that there may be as many as 50 copies. We'll never know for sure, though.

Has anyone even seen one of these "personalized" proofs of the UK Duma Key that were awarded as prizes?

Just wondering.
