Well done!
Question: Does anyone have an earlier flat signed date by Stephen King than 4/12/74?
No inscriptions, you friends of the King family! haha! (The reason I give this restriction for this scavenger hunt is that I think Bruce showed an inscription on I believe one of his Carrie's and it stated it was Stephen King's first signed book. It was about a month before publication. Truly amazing inscription honestly. Can't think of many that would be more cool for a King collector to have. As I will never be able to measure up to that feat (or really most of Bruce's collection), it got me thinking about "flat" signed books for those that do not either know King and/or haven't been collecting for the length of time to be able to get cool inscriptions (either recent or super early ones).
Initially, purely selfish reasons to see how close mine is to the earliest being only a week after publication and I figure anyone getting signatures that early is most likely going to have an inscription which makes the flat signed signatures from this very early time actually more rare (though maybe not as cool). After thinking about the earliest inscription I've ever see (and the fact it stated it was the first signature by King himself), it would seem we of all people in the world should know these odd facts?
Like a running awards board new Thread kinda thing:
1st known inscription.
1st known flat signed.
First Remarque on a King book. (maybe even vote on coolest remarques on a particular book).
Best inscription.
Best signature.
Worst signature (known legit).
Worst signature (not legit...this would be fun). etc...
You get the idea. Just a thought.
Sooooooooo, I'm wondering how many signatures predate 4/12/74 that do not have an inscription?

Something small....
For a short time there were in Hamburg a few books machines, rebuild cigarette machines.
One of the books that you could get there was a novel by Gunter Gerlach whose books I collect for a longer time.
Unfortunately, the bookmaschine company quickly went bankrupt, since I was trying to get one of the rare miniature books from Gunter Gerlach.
Some weeks ago I spoke with a work colleague about books, and he told me that he has exactly this book, incl. the superrare small box. He gave it to me, and I went to a bookreading event from Gunter Gerlach last week.
He was surprised to see the book and signed it for me.
Now, my Gunter Gerlach signed book collection is almost complete....

Very cool Frank. Congratulations.
That is a GREAT case! Gratz!
Nice case! I wish I could do that.
Love that slipcase!!!
Sensational case! Congrats.
That tiny book is cute. Nice that you got it signed!
The cutout on the wooden case so you can see the title is done well. For a moment, seeing the first pic, I thought it was an inlaid engraved plaque.
