Oh boy.... I think that is one of the cheesiest things I've ever seen. I'm surprised they would even show that to try to pitch a film

That Jurassic World Trailer pitch was awful. I don't want the next film to have anything to do with America or any other country. The dinosaurs should not reach stateside ever again. I hate it. It turns into Godzilla. The franchise should stick to the remote islands. Its feels more authentic and mysterious. I had some ideas for another sequel a while back, but now I can't remember what they were.

Better than what I saw from that trailer though. That seemed like a Jaws rip off. Also, pterodactyls aren't that scary. Very easy to hide from and easy to kill.

I finally saw Star Trek: Into Darkness, and I'm pretty disappointed. My whole feeling about the two new movies is such:

    Spoiler:
Step 1: we take all of the established canon from the original movies and throw it out the window. We kill Spock's mom and blow up his planet and have insanely advanced technology.
Step 2: After we've completely screwed up everything, we throw in Leonard Nimoy for some weird cameos where Spock talks to his future self. Because fans love Nimoy and will forgive anything.
Step 3: Now that we have completely ignored everything that was established by the previous movies, we are going to say "fuck it" and completely, blatantly steal the ending from one of said movies. The fans will think that it's all meaningful and shows the reciprocity of Spock and Kirk's friendship and sacrifice, but in all seriousness, we could not think of an ending for this movie, so we grabbed one from the vault.
    Step 4: Profit.

Spoilers just in case anyone still wants to watch either of the new movies. I wouldn't recommend it.

    Spoiler:
The new films take place in a completely different timeline as established by the connection between the old and new Spock, therefore there is technically nothing to screw up since all elements can be reformed and repurposed as the creators saw fit.

Yes, but I don't find that acceptable. So there.

If they want to make a Star Trek movie with the original characters, they should have followed that canon. If they wanted to throw everything out, they could have come up with new characters and called it another reboot.

What really bugs me is I think their casting was completely perfect, and that makes me want to like the movies, but I just can't.

I really like the new Star Trek films. I don't enjoy them as the best Star Trek episodes or films - certainly, Wrath of Khan and First Contact still remain the best Star Trek movies for me, personally - but I can accept the faster pace. Although I will admit that, regarding the ending of Into Darkness,

    Spoiler:
while I actually liked both the subversion of Kirk dying instead of Spock and the way that "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" was used, my biggest gripe was that, shockingly, the writers showed even less balls than the guys who resurrected Spock in the film RIGHT after his death and brought Kirk back from the dead instantly rather than going for a cool cliffhanger ending. Come JJ Abrams, you were clearly inspired by Star Wars in the first film, why not go nuts and give us an Empire Strikes Back ending of bleakness: like Han frozen in carbon, you could've easily used Kirk's death as a cliffhanger, at least. Ah well.

As simple scifi blockbuster entertainment, well, they're better than the first two Star Wars prequels.

Anything's better than the Star Wars prequels.

I don't think a cliffhanger would have been terribly convincing
    Spoiler:
, we all know Kirk has to live. But it would have been something.

Also, what the hell was up with the tribble corpse? Just randomly, "oh, I really need to test Khan's blood, good thing I've been carrying around this dead tribble!"

It just seemed like a lot of it was nonsensical references instead of actual plot or creativity.

There was already a Time War in canon. It is screwed up that all the heroes of the original timeline would be willing to allow/unable to prevent themselves from being erased and their history to be altered to include destruction of planet Vulcan.

Just watched Room 237. Sure it's pretty crazy, but I have to say I found some of the stuff to be somewhat intriguing. It's also quite fascinating how people can draw such conclusions from certain things and the connections that they can make.

I'd definitely recommend it. Especially if you're a fan of the movie. Just be prepared for a lot of really outrageous connections and hypothesis. I don't believe in most of it, but I'm still fascinated by stuff like that. Also there's a very interesting portion near the end of the movie where they play back the movie forward and backwards at the same time, and it's quite interesting some of the images that overlap.

Man of Steel. Anybody else think the fight in Smallville and the fight between Zod and Superman was one of the best superhero battles ever put on film? Honestly, the whole movie is just bloody awesome, but those two fights really cemented this as one of my favorite movies.

I am in the thinking that JJ Abrahms is going for the alternate universe that they showed in the series. That is why he chose to do this story that way...just my 2 cents...lol.

I actually felt the fight scenes were redundant and lacked imagination. I grew quite bored by them. I wanted more out of the fight scenes. They would punch each other and then throw each other threw buildings. I just think they could have mixed it up a little bit instead of just making it an all out slugfest. Other than that, I enjoyed the film.

This is what I'm assuming too. I had an idea years ago for another Jurassic Park film. I've forgotten most of it, but it dealt with the park actually being opened and successful. I think I had it taking place like 30 years after the original events. The grandkids end up opening it up and the movie would take place on the five year anniversary of the opening of the park.

There's never been a death or any serious incident. It's later revealed that the reason for this is that the Dinosaurs aren't real. They are basically animatronic. Nobody knows this but one person. This person also knows that a wide selection of real dinosaurs is being held somewhere on the island in a state of cryogenterated stasis. A team of people infiltrates the park to try and free them. Then, of course, all hell breaks loose.

I could be mixing up a few ideas I had. I don't remember. I'm sure if I seriously sat down, I could make it work.

You know, I actually love that.

Now, would your movie revolve around the idea that the dinosaurs weren't real all along, or just the "new" dinos 30 years later?
