So I FINALLY got to see the last episode of season 5.

It was sloppy the way Hank found out, but Walt's been getting sloppy. He went and bought two luxury cars in one day, after buying one and lighting it on fire for the fun of it. He's not acting like a rational human being.

I really hope Jesse survives all of this. I was pissed as hell that Mike the consummate survivor got killed by Walt the doofus.

I don't know if this has been discussed or not, but Walter White - Walt Whitman... more than just the initials. Is that supposed to mean something?

I guarantee there will be redemption for Walter.

No doubt he will die in the end (most likely the cancer will return), but in the end, he will redeem himself.

Yeah, I can see that. Maybe not the "Cancer", but he ain't long for the world. Jesse will be the new "Kingpin" IMHO!!! However. maybe a "kinder & gentler" Kingpin!!! LOL LOL

You're probably right, but I just thought a character reversal might be in store for him. It would be a cool twist for the show especially considering Walt's reversal.

I agree. If there is going to be redemption for any character on this show, it will be for Jesse, assuming he makes it out alive. He's been through hell, but he has come out the other side a better man, with a far better moral compass than the one he started with.

I can't see any way they can honestly give Walt redemption after what he's become. After what he's made others become. Disappearing is probably the best he can do at the end, but I suspect death is the end for him.

Yeah, I suspect redemption is in the cards for Jesse too. At this point he is so far and beyond removed from Walter's line of thinking, that I'd be surprised if Jesse doesn't actively play a role in Walter's downfall by the end of the show.

I hear you guys, but it just seems too predictable for a show like this. Don't ya think? Guess I'm hoping the writer's have got one more surprise up their sleeve.

FINALLY all caught up. I really liked the ending of the first half of season 5. I especially liked at how it happened when Walter was finally trying to go straight and get his life back on track. I was surprised that the flash-forward at the beginning of season 5 wasn't hinted at more, but that just leaves me more keen to seeing how it ends.

I'm pretty sure Walt is past redemption, but I have hope for Jesse. I mean, Walt might do something "good" at the end, but I don't think it will in any way change who he's become or make up for what he's done.

Jesse is a wonderful parallel to Walter. I absolutely love how both started out as opposites, mostly for comic relief, and are now still opposites but for completely different reasons. Whereas as Walter has gone from a pretty decent, ordinary guy who wants to make sure his family are looked after to a man who's obsessed with having his own empire and being in complete control, no matter what the cost, Jesse has gone from someone who was a bit of a dumb loser to a smart, intelligent guy who wants to escape the dark path that he and Walter made while he still can and get his life sorted out. I definitely agree that Jesse has a lot more chance for redemption than Walt has, that's for sure.
