I guess it comes down to perspective. There were 380 total copies of the limited edition produced: some numbered in red, most numbered in black. Aside from that, both are the exact same item. The individual reason for collecting the book (love the story, love the design, want the rarest format etc.) will determine inherent value to that person. Personally I don't see value in the color of the number allocated and thus wouldn't be able to rationalize nor justify the $2000 premium. Clearly someone did and more power to that person as well as the seller.
