Great Gerald. At least you've clarified things, and I too am pleased to know they are in your hands. Of course, I'd be just a little more pleased if they were in my hands, but hey... those are the breaks!

A lot! Maybe someone like John (or Gerald) can offer a more accurate valuation than that...

Well I love Scotland and have visited many times. My family ancestry has historic roots there, so it might be a good match. This is my boy, and he likes to walk behind the rows...

Great pic, Gerald! My boy (our first as well) is nine months old now and -assuming he will grow up loving books just like his mom and dad- my small King collection will be his one day.

Wow, my father's grandparents were from Aberdeen, and they moved to Cork and settled there. Our ancestors probably passed each other on Viking ships

Thank you. When I showed my boy the Tom Gordon limited edition, he just shook his head and said "too expensive". The Shining is his favorite book (mine too) because our dog is a Samoyed and looks just like the animal on the cover. I have taught him to say "Redrum".

Thank you Michaël. It definitely brings about a change in priorities. After he was born, I was hoping he would like to be read Dr. Seuss books because they are affordable First Editions for the most part. Unfortunately he loves Winnie the Pooh and trying to find E. H. Shephard original illustrations is next to impossible at a cheap price. Sotheby's had a nice collection in early November, but they continue to beat the high estimates. Historically, they have never been attainable at low prices, they always sell at a premium. However, lately there has been an increase interest in Milne's stories. The same thing happened in the early to mid 2000s with Arthur Rackham illustrations. They were much darker in comparison. I love Pooh but it will be a long time before he can really appreciate it.
