I received the box. No word on July.
I received the box. No word on July.
I received two tracking numbers. One from Aug. 8th that is still showing pre-shipment and one that should be delivered tomorrow. IDK if the one from the 8th is actually the July box?
I heard some people got refunds but then were sent boxes anyway and then rebilled when they actually didn't want the box. Some were given refunds and boxes and told to keep them as a gift. This is so crazy.
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
My box just arrived today. I've heard about people getting 2 tracking numbers, with one of those likely being July, but I've only received one so far. I need to call my cc and make sure they didn't refund me now.
Edit - so I just called and there was no refund to my cc, so they just ignored my email as suspected. I'm assuming I'll be getting July now too. I'd really like to cancel my order for the King box though, I fear that one will never materialize. Has anyone tried to dispute it or get refunded? I've seen quite a handful of people on fb getting their money back for that box.

No problem. Vincent was implying that King would be signing. He got a bunch of people to sign up for his regular box in order to access the King presale that way. He bugged King's people about it a bit too much. He was informed the day 'Salem's Lot went on sale that King would not be signing. He announced it an hour before the sale started.
King stated that he would not be signing "on principle." He was seemingly aware of Vincent's shenanigans and didn't like it.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
I’ve seen this mentioned and it’s the one thing I don’t quite understand. How could King have known about his shenanigans so early on? It makes me think either Vincent was an asshole to King’s representative(s) or that there’s something else that happened that nobody knows about.
Unless I’ve simply missed something, which is not at all unlikely.
Looking for Mister Slaughter S/L #78
How could King not know?
I imagine that since King was considering allowing NRB to publish 'Salem's Lot someone subscribed to the newsletter. Vincent kept saying he was getting signed copies in the newsletter. King ended up approving a 2000 copy unsigned print run.
Vincent agreed that King didn't sign "on principle" because of the promotion of signed books prior to any agreement. It's possible that something else happened too. Vincent might have lost his temper with King's people, or he might have been too pushy. He had already set up a sale date without any commitment from King to sign books. He might have been bugging them about it and went too far.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
I think the principle was "Don't commit and announce that I will sign something, before I myself have committed to sign something."
For my edification, could someone point me to where Mr. King or Vincent commented on King not signing 'On principle'. This information is new to me, I have never heard of King commenting on this. Just trying to learn.

I believe NRB is "finito".
In the village all the children running home
- they sing hymns that haunt them when they're all alone.
I can’t read it either and am also interested in knowing more. Perhaps someone can quote the piece here? Thanks!
