I am really happy with who i drew this year.
it seems to me most that participate are pretty generous and care much more about what they give than what they get. I kinda wish we could not worry about anyone feeling they didn't get equal value back and let people just give what they want to give. No one should feel obligated to spend a certain amount and I honestly don't feel like anyone is expecting it. From what I have seen people just send what they want anyway lol. Just my two cents.
Happy with my recipient as well. Looking forward to putting something together and getting it shipped out. Really happy that this Secret Santa event has gone so well the last few years, thank you again to Jerome for doing the heavy lifting and for everyone else who jumps on-board every year.

How has the reveal worked in the past when all the gifts have been dispatched? I think it would be pretty cool if a big reveal was done here with folks posting what they received. Maybe pick a certain date for the reveal? Thoughts?

It might be great if those of us in the Exchange might give some basic ideas, both King and non-King, it can be difficult to know what to look for sometimes, especially when the forum searches don't give you any leads. I'm kind of in that boat here after a couple hours of searching forum posts.

I'm loathe to suggest what to be given for SS, but in the spirit of avoiding something I already have: I do have every first UK and USA edition of King (except those 2 titles in my signature). Apart from that, I love gifts, love reading / collecting many authors, and am very easy to please (... yeah, that's what she said). But, please, no Asbestos Firestarter - I couldn't accept that in good faith.

I'm about to post a few pictures in my collection thread to help out my SS. I haven't been collecting UK 1sts or proofs for long, so I am in need of lots of those. Even though I sold the ones I had, I have pretty much decided to go back and buy King's Holdorf books again, but I haven't started yet. Behind King and Hill, the other 2 big authors I collect are Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson. And while I haven't bought anything recently, I like the little promo items that pop up here and there. That should give you a good idea!!!

Sending out is less important than making sure it's received before xmas.
Which can even be tricky. I cancelled an order for something I was getting for my recipient today, because 4 days after ordering, the order had yet to be confirmed, never mind shipped. So I went elsewhere and the item was shipped today. After that I gotta wait for it to arrive then repackage it and send it on its way... So, you know, if you don't get something in time for xmas at least you'll have a happy new year!
...And then multiply that trickiness when you live on a southern island, waiting for gifts purchased from the US to arrive, in order repack and send onto a third continent... It's like the amazing race over here!
