The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
It's a first edition / third printing (prior to publication). It was printed prior to publication and released at the same time as the first and second printing which makes it interesting. It is still a third printing though. There were two print runs for the book prior to the third.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
When it comes to Stephen King I am strictly a 1st edition collector...But when it came to Movie & Play (if later filmed) tie-ins They are not always 1st editions (CUJO was a 6th)
In the case of Death of a Salesman because of the Pulitzer & all the Awards is why the orders Sky Rocketed (I understand each printing was given a different dust jacket 1st & 2nd had pictures of Arthur Miller on them.) This one does not...
But it did have this...
Spoiler:
Io baseball magazine with "Brooklyn August" by Stephen King?

Okay, I'm finding myself in a bit of a bind after paying my last COBRA payment, my life insurance payment and the 1st month payment for my new policy for the rest of the year.
I was hoping to hold onto my paperback Mr. Mercedes a little longer, but perhaps I need to get rid of it now as I don't have a check coming into my bank account until the 18th. I asked before but I didn't get much of a price point for this: Mr. Mercedes Trade Paperback 2nd Printing - Flatsigned from the Kings & the Straubs Brooklyn event. Fine (Minor thumb crease on cover where grabbed when these books were initially brought out to the attendees).
One other is listed on eBay at $390.00. It is the only other signed Mr. Mercedes that I'm seeing anywhere. Is this completely off-base given the rarity right now? Should I really try to hold on until after the first (assumed) End Of Watch signings happen when people are REALLY trying to get a full set put together? I just need some advice on this book from those who SELL more regularly. I've only been the BUYER to this point. I could really use some useful help to maximize this particular book until I can get back on track.
Perhaps I'll be selling my UK S/L TWTTK too, and where is that sitting these days? @$500-550? I see one on ABE in the 600 range, but that's certainly too high.
WANTED
US 1st Printings. I have THESE
#92 IT Portfolio (or the #95 IT to swap for the #92 that I have)
Any #95 SK-related Cemetery Dance Edition
Any #7 PS Publishing Edition
Sleeping Beauties: Signed Tour version.
A second paperback printing isn't itself a collectible edition.
I think $390 is about three times more than it's worth.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
The King signed Trade PB 2nd edition of MM is worth less than $300.
Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. I know I can always trust all y'all for honest ranges.....even if they aren't what I'd like to see. I'll put these on the Classified thread (if anyone is interested) while I prepare eBay listings.

Wow! Are you selling this, TrueNorth?
That is cool! This is one of the harder to find Cavalier issues and the sig looks authentic to me. I'm pretty sure this is a one of a kind item!
100% it is his signature.....I watched him autograph it and have photos to document. I would hand these over to the new owner if I did sell.
However, I wasn't thinking of selling I was trying to:
A) Find out what what it's worth.
B) Does anyone else have/or seen a John Swithen autograph.
I don't know about market value but I'd probably pay $350 for it. I've not seen a Swithen sig before.
Thanks for the guesstimates guys.
If I saw it for $500 I would snap it up. We know it would be cooler if it was a vintage signature.......but it is what it is.
New signatures on old items (Especially pre-Carrie) are not so desirable. Unless he signs it to you personally, and then you would never part with it.
I've always thought this too. But I think it applies to the Doubleday books as well. I just don't think it wise to take a first edition Carrie or a Night Shift to a signing. I'm not saying a current signature on a vintage item devalues it in any way because it doesn't. But I've seen some nice books where King signed coming out of a bathroom, getting out of a taxi, etc., etc. where I would rather have the book unsigned than with the resulting rushed and often illegible signature. And we've seen some of the ones signed with a Sharpie that I wouldn't want in my collection. I think if I were going to a signing and could bring any book right now it would probably be Mr. Mercedes rather than something from the past.
Great magazine and inscription. You thinking of selling?
The inscription wasn't asked for, he smiled when he saw it and wrote what he was thinking. I won't be selling it anytime soon.
I am on the same page, vintage signatures for vintage books. As much as I prefer a flat sign, this one is the exception only because of the AKA.
I somehow doubt there is a vintage John Swithen signature out there. Love to see one.
Thoughts on the value of a matching number set of Shining and Dr Sleep s/ls? Any premium over just having one of each with different numbers?
