Fleetwood Mac - Landslide (1975)
Possibly my favorite Bee Gees song:
Bee Gees - Tragedy (1979)
The Eagles -- Life in the Fast Lane (1977)
"Good news, Boppers: The big alert has been called off. It turns out that the early reports were wrong, all wrong. Now for that group out there that had such a hard time getting home, sorry about that. I guess the only thing we can do is play you a song...."
Joe Walsh - In The City (1979)
I was sure this one had to have already been nominated, but I don't see it on the list yet.
Bob Dylan - Hurricane (1975)
Looks like Vangelis is getting ignored so far, but can't blame a guy for trying:
Vangelis - Pulstar (1976)
I think film scores are ok, if something can be broken out as a song-length track. (I'm not a fan of 30-60 minute tracks for a contest like this). One of my first nominations for the next time period will be Tangerine Dream's Love on a Real Train (from Risky Business).
Hell, I should have nominated one of the tracks from Star Wars. Perhaps even just the "Main Title." No reason a classical based or symphonic piece can't be nominated, right? John Williams has written/produced a TON of genius music.
Well, film scores are a bit different to me. But I guess technically any released piece of music could be nominated.
