Hi All-
My wife and I are driving in on Saturday afternoon - probably around 2 or 3. She might not want to meet with all you smelly old guys but I'll be free any time on Saturday and/or on Sunday to meet up. As long as there's a craps table some where close, I'm up for any place others decide (at least till I run out of money!).
If I'm understanding right, Bill will be in Sat. evening. I think he's staying at the Golden Nugget. (Bill, - Since you want to try a buffet, I believe there's a decent one at the Nugget so you might not need to go 'out & about' too much). Pretty much any casino/hotel you go to is going to have good carpet for 'scooters'!!!
Last time I was out there (years ago) there was a pretty nice FREE show downtown starting around dusk on their outdoor mall. I hear there is a new 'Mob Museum' in that area also.
If anyone has an interest, I have a slipcase for a 1st Carrie I'm bringing along ... not to sell, just to give away for goodwill. If more than one wants it, maybe 'Hi Card Wins"?

Thats really cool! Thanks Dick. Is it ok If I bring the deck of cards? (also we should definitely do this on SATURDAY night.... )
Patrick, Paul, Shac and Dick (maybe Shannon?) , As we are all there on the Saturday, lets go for meeting at the Venetian - I'd love to see the book store. I'm sure we wont have too much trouble finding somewhere to eat and drink after that. I'll PM my Cell to everyone.
Looking forward to this!
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
That sounds good. Try to make the meeting later in the afternoon if possible. I will only be there around 2 or 3. Looking forward to it.
What about 4pm? does that suit everyone?

4 pm at the Venetian works for me as well. I don't know all the options but there's a Mecican food place if anyone wants to grab a bite or wants a cerveza or a margarita like I will.

so a quick check on Google maps shows the MGM is a 10 min taxi ride or about a 30 min walk to the Venetian. It's straight up the Strip, so I'll probably walk up and see the sights.
Does anyone know the Venetian well? Do we meet in the Foyer or is there someplace obvious? We should all probably wear a single red rose......

It'll be nice except the 107 degree F weather forecast for that time on Saturday. Want to meet inside?
P.S. I always angle for Mexican food.

Inside somewhere sounds good. Along those lines - I'd re-think walking to the Venetian .... Las Vegas is why god made air conditioning!!! I'm sure you could make it but if you do you're a better man than me! Those blocks are a LOT longer than they look and, like Patrick says, 107F temps take a lot out of you!
I'll be waiting with an ice cold Negro Modelo Beer in hand!

The Houston Astros cheated Major League Baseball from 2017-18!!!! Is that how we teach our kids to play the game now?????
A Table at the Mexican Restaurant inside The Venetian has been booked by Paul for 4pm. We plan to eat then go visit the Bauman Rare bookstore then finish up at a bar somewhere.
we have made allowances in the booking for extras so Shannon if you can make it that would be great.
Right now it's me , Zelig, Shac, Patrick and Dolso.
Bill: assume you are getting in too late for this, so will see you on Sunday!

Damn, I wish I knew you guys had moved this to Vegas instead of Florida, I would have been so down to go for the weekend!!
Have fun ya geezers.
We met the last two times that Simon came from the UK to Orlando. The thread was about the last Orlando trip which morphed into Simon's trip this year to Las Vegas and meeting up there.
I might still Priceline a plane ticket and show up.
Shannon I'll be sleeping on your couch.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
It's getting hot hot HOT here recently. Drink lots of water, seriously. People pass out here every day from lack of water. Even if you're not a water drinker, just drink a bottle every now and then for the hell of it.
If you're taking the "walking route" I see above, it passes by a Denny's in the Casino Royale. Busiest in the world. But please, don't go there. A) All the cooks and managers suck, and B) It'll be about a half hour wait to get in, a half hour wait for your food --if you're lucky-- and most likely, you'll get shitty service. I left that Denny's six months ago and have not been happier. Take my word for it, please.
I should should should be getting off work AT four on Saturday, and then it'll take forty-five minutes to an hour to go home, shower, get dressed, and drive to the Venetian and see you guys. You'll all still be there at five, right? I'll be keeping in touch with St. Patrick. Anyone that wants to sleep on my couch/floor on Saturday is fine, but I've got to have everyone gone at 9am on Sunday so I can get to work. Not that I don't trust you all or anything, lol. And remember, if I drive you back to my place Saturday evening/night, you'll have to find your own way to wherever you're going the next morning.
What's the plan after the pm/5pm meetup?
