Yes, but I explicitly explained the circumstances. I also took the time to remind, Tomas of our transactions regarding the US & UK editions and suggested he update it. However, you wish to slice it, saying I am on a "different planet" is not polite conversation amongst friends.

ok, so before this gets too Off Topic, It seems there is either different sizes of the first edition (unlikely) or Tomas's case has variations in width. Either way there is a need for an alternative case for the 1st edition. Tomas's case is fantastic and is a beautiful match for the Easton press edition, but I think there is definitely room in the market for an alternative.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Here's mine with Thomas' slipcase...
I have one of each Easton Press, the first and second editions. They slipcases are both thin, but one case is slightly taller then the other as I bought mine months apart. I will suggest anyone with these leather copies to perhaps Mylar wrap the book. I state that, which I have just done today, because I noticed a bit of book ware to my first edition on the back of the book.
I don't recall seeing this before, and the slipcase doesn't have anything that could cause this minor damage. Nonetheless, I am freaking out!

I used a flash, sorry. You can see my slipcases are a tad different in height. Hard to notice, but my first edition Dead Zone, like Stroppygoblin's, is the same thickness as the slipcase. So, it would be nice to have Merlin's slipcases since they are wider. Times change, but no big deal.

And here are mine. I admit, with the brodart they are a little tight, but they fit rather well. Since we all agree the "Easton" fits I did not bother to take pics...
And shame on you for not taking my word and not believing me in the first place. I know folks don't show much respect for me, but I don't usually comment on "Collector issues" unless I am certain. There are many more "authorities" here than I, but when I do contribute it is generally because I have first hand knowledge. I do not appreciate being called on the carpet. My word is my bond. I live on the same planet as all of you, thank you very much!!! The "US' 1/1 is signed by, King and remarqued by, Jill. The Easton (not pictured, is also remarqued by, Jill and purchased from the HF in years gone by).
Now, maybe the dimensions were altered, I don't know, but as you can see mine fit nicely.

@Merlin1958. You going to auction off your slipcases then? But only to Yankee fans right?

I said I believed you Bill!
With yours and and Allasorte's post above - it seems there is some size flexibility in the cases that Tomas has produced over the years.

LOL No, I am particularly happy with them and intend to keep the books and SC's. I also do not want this thread to digress into a flame war. I think I made my point and will depart. The Yanks are taking on the Red Sux for a sweep and to me that is much more important. I will leave this thread to all involved to avoid any further discourse. Believe it or not I am not the "Antagonist" folks seem to attribute to me. You guys do what you think is best for your collection. I never meant to suggest otherwise. I was just pointing out a fellow members "contribution/Investment" that we were, a lot of us, very happy to have in the past. Things change.

At any rate. If Firestarter and Dead Zone slipcases are going to be made, I would love to know as I would be interested in both for sure. Thanks for all the amazing work on the ones I have seen in this thread.

You are killing me. I'll take that too!!! Hell, if you guys are doing all the 1st/1sts, I'm in. I need one for Different Seasons, Cell, Tommyknockers (both colored slipcases), Green Mile. Wait, all of King's books after the publishing and including Dead Zone dates......so that will be dozens of books. When will I get a PM and an Amen?! Oh, and Easton Press Dracula why you are at it and The Exorcist lol.

Amen!
So far I have focused on books that have artwork that translates well to a single image and has distinctive text. Some of the later books (post Viking) may not work as well. I don't intend doing anything other than King i'm afraid, but I have plenty of those to work on!

I'd definitely be in for Dead Zone and It.
Has anyone here commissioned a case from Jeff for CD's Exorcist/Legion special edition?

I'd keep the Stephen King text, but make the font the same across all of them. Also, maybe put the images on the front and not the spine... just a thought...
