Never seen one for sale - great find! Another very scarce promo sampler is the UK Under the Dome sampler. I don't think I've seen any other copies than the one I got for £50 before the book came out. I think I sold it to Barry McGee not long after and I assume it ended up with someone here when he sold his collection a couple of years ago.

I have one of the UK Under the Dome samplers. I got it off eBay for $56 in 2009.

In November just after the release of BODB, I went to one of my local towns, Cheltenham. There, in Waterstones, I saw a large promotional display on a table with lots of copies of BODB. I just had to have this display, so I asked the guy if I could have it after they had finished with it. He said he would get the manager to phone me, so I left my name and number. I did not hear anything from them after that and I did not see this display anywhere at any other bookshops I visited. I thought it was a lost cause. Today, I just so happened to be in the same Waterstones and the display was still there propped up against the wall and all the books had gone. So I asked the same guy again and he apologised that no-one had contacted me. He went and found the manager who said that they had finished with it and that I could have it. So I was very pleased to come home with a FREE and it seems quite rare promo item.

Thanks Jeremy. It's basically a cardboard easel design display which is spray painted on the front. Then there is a clear acetate sheet with the lettering on it adhered by sticky strips top and bottom. Then a card butterfly adhered to the acetate sheet.

I have put up a photo of the rear of the easel and a photo of the display with the 1st UK HB of TBODB for scale.

Tell me about it... the guy is VERY SLOW at getting back to me. Found him a while ago in my art searching. He has some pretty impressive stuff from the King world and is downsizing. He has art from the original Gunslinger!!!!
